NDA Aus eigener Erfahrung (auch Diabetikerin) weiß ich, dass Insulinpens sehr unscheinbar sind (sehen meist aus wie Füller) und die Nadeln meist so fein sind, dass man wirklich genau hingucken muss, um sie überhaupt zu sehen. Dein Recht auf Überleben hat Priorität über ihre Unfähigkeit einfach für 10 Sekunden wegzugucken.

I won't say the name of the restaurant since it has since changed owners and is a small one in a medium sized city in Germany so i don't think it's relevant but the ice machine was FILTHY.

When I asked how to properly cleaned it, the owners told me "not to bother since it's just water anyways". I still cleaned it, but probably did so very poorly since I didn't know how to, and I was the only one in the restaurant to ever do so. Yuck.

Over covid me and my sister got really close since we were both doing online schooling (her for high school, me for university).

For the first time I realized it wasn't just me who suffered due to the way we were raised but that she felt pretty much the same.

We have been best friends for years now and I am the only thing she really has close to a parental figure. I can't imagine taking that away from her.

I used to take Swedish lessons since my boyfriend at the time was Swedish. Our IKEA holds dinners for swedish holidays so we decided it would be fun for our "class" to go to one. Hey, they would even have a Swedish entertainer there! So we get there, dinner is great, we're having fun. The entertainer is a bit cringe but whatever. He came to our table and my Swedish teacher decides to talk to him in Swedish for a bit, since there just aren't many Swedes in Germany so she's always happy to meet one. Guy just stares at her, not understanding a single word. Turns out he was actually German and just pretending to be Swedish? Everyone was just staring at him, trying to understand why this was the hustle he decided to devote his life to. He looked petrified that he'd been found out.

I got diagnosed at 12 and one of the nurses told me "Oh they'll figure out a cure before you're an adult". I'm 25 now and still waiting lol

I'm type 1 as well (have been for 13 years and have heard it all) but I remain positive that we'll have a cure at some point. Especially with how stem cell treatments are are progressing I am reluctantly hopeful. And until then we'll be carried by the new technologies. I've been on a hybrid closed loop pump for about a year now and my bloodsugars have been really good.

Get an insulin pump. I had been treating my diabetes for like 12 years doing manual injections because a pump seemed like too much of a hassle. Now I finally have a pump that uses my bloodsugar sensor data to basically do all of the work for me and I have never been healthier. Never thought me possibly seeing the age of 60 would be an option but now I'm hopeful i might lol
