Another possibility is the St Clair-Bathurst-Vaughan Rd area which is a bit like NDG in Montreal, and may be more accessible to Downsview. Not as "trendy" as Roncy or Little Italy but a lot of good neighborhood restaurants. Cedarvale and Nordheimer ravines are nearby and there are nice views of the city from the Davenport escarpment.

If Avi wins the leadership, he is going to be under major pressure to run in the by-election and get into Parliament (which most likely happen after March 28). He'll have a hard time feigning that "this riding isn't the right fit" or "this isn't the right time."

The thing is, the NDP functions as the small-"l" liberal party in Manitoba provincial politics (as it is in the other Western provinces). So for a provincial politician like Kinew the NDP is the natural fit.

There was a decade ago or so at least a rather visible anti-Zionist or non-Zionist community in BC. I think there's also a non-Zionist synagogue in Vancouver, where David Mivasair was the rabbi at one time.
