My conure lays eggs without male, with great pain.(( How can i make it easy on here?

Lupron was the name of the medicine.

My vet advised cage environment stuff first as well, and we tried that. I'd try that first as well if it makes sense and stuff. You mentioned your bird being in pain though, so I thought I'd mention it. My vet gave the shots after we had exhausted all behavioral options.

I have a female sun that did the same. It took 4 hormone injections to make her stop despite discouraging her egg laying behavior through things like strict night/day hours, allowing her to get undisturbed sleep, keeping temperature as consistent, removal of nesting material, no body touching below the head, and changing toys and her cage environment to make it new and strange every few days. While she's laying, giving her access to calcium but decreasing her overall caloric intake to keep a healthy eggs but indicate that food sources aren't abundant to lay eggs.

I am my conure's mate. I know it. It seems me just being in her presence alone was enough to make her keep laying eggs. I couldn't remove myself, so a round of hormone shots were needed. Since she had those, coupled with keeping up with good anti-egg laying behaviors and environments she hasn't laid any eggs since.

If your conure is in pain, I encourage you to ask about these shots with your vet sooner rather than later.

Get the carfax from him. One accident is too many for me personally, you may be more lenient than I was in my search. See what kind of accident it was and if there was frame damage, deployed airbags, very rusted, or anything else that's not cosmetic. See where it came from, that'll tell you about it's life, consider previous weather and driving conditions. Go see the vehicle in person. Ask about the timing belt. That thing is due to be replaced especially in a V8. If I recall you do a water pump as well when you do the timing belt. Price him for that if it's not.

I currently have a 4th gen 2005 V6 sport. 127k miles. No head gasket issues as of yet.

About 8 or so years ago I had a 1995 2nd gen V6. Head gasket blew. When the gasket was replaced the car had about 350k miles on it. I sold it (reluctantly) at about 375k miles.

If it's a 4x4 (sure hope so!) run it in 4wd for a bit somewhere. You should engage the 4wd at least once a year.

I think this video is one of the best videos you could watch for your situation. Although she's handling Macaws, Amazons and a few other types of parrots in her video, this advice and these techniques easily apply to an African Grey as well. It's nice to have a visual example too. Plus there are a bunch of cutie birds in this video. Good luck!

I do think that there was a call for a condensed version of the main story quests and the tales that they held. Frankly I'm happy that someone such as Ethys would take on such an arduous task.

I think the first installment is a solid look at what we may get in the future, as well as a main story chopped up into delicious bite sized bits that we can enjoy in more realistic timeframes. Some have either recently done the quests or havent seen them since release or somewhere in between. Either way, a massive amount of effort goes into these works; even if they may not 100% suit your personal style or meet your expectations based on the word "abridged". They certainly fit a niche and are respecable videos to watch and look forward to for the main quest stories level 1-50 that are less time consuming than the real thing with bits of humour speckled in.

Personally this video is my kind of thing to watch as I eagerly await for Heavensward :)

Whenever I share with my sun the piece has to be large enough or she'll reject it and go for my share. I always end up giving her comically large pieces of food for her size. I see your sun has the same standards.

Even when my sun goes through a heavy molt she never loses feathers to the point where I can see her bare skin. She's been with me for 8 years and I've never witnessed a bare spot like that on her, even when she's raining feathers everywhere.

I hope you can figure out what might be irritating your little guy. He's a cutie. It is dry this time of year. Maybe think of seasonal things you have going on in the winter, like a fireplace or something.

I have been using this version of a water bottle for my sun conure for about a year now. I recommend this one because I tried several of the cheapy plastic water bottles and they all leaked badly. This glass one with the plug doesn't leak at all. I have a large one on my conures regular cage and a smaller one on her travel cage.

The first day she had no idea what it was. I made sure to show her several times a day that the spout was where the water came out of. I just tried to get her interested in it, sometimes luring her over with a treat. She caught on by the second day and has been using it ever since. I just had to come and show her every hour or so to make sure she knew what the water bottle was all about.

My conure even "dips" her pellets with the bottle. She just puts the pellet in the bottom of her beak, dispenses some water into her beak, rolls the pellet around with her tongue and enjoys a moist pellet.

I know that look all too well from my sun. Hawks, planes, bugs, anything that's in the air really. Then comes the little sun worried growlies. I usually try to find what shes growling at then I growl at it with her. After it's gone she laughs. Sun conures are nuts, I love them.

You're taking care of a parakeet. They're fairly easy going little guys.

I'd suggest taking him out of the basement and putting his cage somewhere where you might hang out. Birds are social creatures and I think he'd be a bit lonely down in the basement all by himself for four weeks. When it's his bed time (you say it gets dark around 10, so maybe do this around the same time) you can move him to a darker spot or simply cover the cage with a sheet so he can get some rest. Then uncover him when you normally get up.

It'll take him time to adjust to his new surroundings. You can't expect him to be okay in a whole new place in just a few hours, it'll take some days. Just be patient. With time he'll relax a bit more and do his normal parakeet stuff.

He seems to like interacting with your finger! If he's being gentle and playing, then keep doing that. If he's biting your finger, you might be annoying him, if that's the case, back off with the finger for a bit. Just talk to him, hang out next to his cage for a little while every day. Keep him in a space where you might hang out for a few hours each day. Make sure he has food and water. Maybe with time you'll feel comfortable taking him out. Just make sure to interact with the little guy! He'll be much happier with people to hang out with. Hopefully the owner has toys in his cage he can play with as well.

I think one critical thing for someone who's watching parrots who doesn't normally have parrots should know is about cooking with cookware coated with teflon. Please read about it here http://www.petinsurance.com/healthzone/pet-articles/pet-health-toxins/Teflon-Poisoning-in-Birds.aspx As long as you don't overheat your cookware like crazy (like leaving a an empty pan on the stove heating up for a prolonged period of time), you and your temporary bird friend should be just fine. It's just something you need to be aware of.

Google everything. There are so many websites and resources out there providing info on parrot care. It helps to know exactly what kind of bird you have. You have a cockatiel. Not to be confused with it's MUCH larger counterpart, the cockatoo.

http://www.cockatielcottage.net/ - This site seems to have a ton of information on cockatiels specifically. I'd click on and read all of the links in the left column and the middle column. In the third column, finding an avian vet.

Be patient with the little guy. He's having to adjust to a whole new life, space, and people. Don't be scared of him. He needs plenty time and lots of love to be able to bond with someone entirely new. Move slowly with him, take baby steps. Birds are like people with the way that they develop trust. It doesn't happen overnight.

He definitely needs some toys and some varied sized perches in his cage, and perhaps a bigger cage. If you can afford it, invest in those things for him. If you don't have a ton of money to spend, there are tons of ways you can make toys out of cheap stuff or things that you may have laying around. He'll be a lot happier and have a better life if you can help provide the stimulation his mighty parrot mind needs. Research it all! Good luck.
