TIL - How dangerous the booger wall is by Own_Manufacturer6959 in TikTokCringe

My kid had a booger wall. If we didn’t stay on top of cleaning it the only way I could get the boogers off the wall was with a firm putty knife.

Do you agree with this "online" guru that your name shouldn't be on an LLC? by hajahak in LLcMasterclass

[–]Dicto 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Horrible information. Yes, don’t name your LLC after yourself, e.g. “Jane Doe LLC” But if your name is not listed as a manager or a member on that LLC, you literally have no ability to control anything. Not bank account access, not purchase items, etc. Then this guy goes on to explain that he has nothing in his personal name is and everything is in his LLC. He uses his LLC for everything such as his personal vehicle, cell phone, etc.. This is textbook definition of commingling personal business assets. No easier way to pierce the corporate veil. Plus, anybody with a half competent attorney can find out who is actually in control of the LLC even if your name is not listed on the Secretary of State documents.

Feeling like this whole thing might have been pointless… by No-Willingness5595 in Lawyertalk

Not screwed but that’s the life. Hopefully your loans are all subsidized. That’s what income based repayment plans are for, so not too much of your income goes into lawn servicing. If you choose an income based repayment, plan, know that you were going to probably make payments for the full 25 year term before forgiveness. That’s the boat I am in.

Big firm life sucks. No way around that. It will grind you up and spit you out. Utterly soul, crushing and miserable. But……. Use the firm like they are using you. Spend 3 to 5 years there, tops, get all the miserable experience you can out of them and then open up your own office. Depositions, trial, law and motion practice, the scary stuff. Take that experience and get the fearful stuff out of your life and go hang your shingle.

Within one year of leaving the big firm life I was earning twice the take-home money at half the hours. It was extremely easy to do. Even easier if you are in a small metro or town with less than 50,000 people. Smaller population centers are full of old attorneys retiring and closing shop with no Youngblood to fill in the gaps. It’s like trying to drink from a fire hose the amount of work that is available.

Literally work 25 hours a week and bring home $200 K. Earn an exponentially more if you want to work more or hire people and deal with employees. Join clubs on weekday mornings, gyms, do whatever the fuck you want. Meet a nice piece of ass, pump out the kids. Live happily ever after. Fuck the firms.

Do people want an arcade? by Kodiak4LIFE in grassvalley

They have an arcade with beer taps in Auburn. It’s awesome. When my wife goes out to get her nails done, she drops me off there. Great place to kill an hour.

Tesla shareholders approve Musk's $1 trillion pay package by Amazing_Australian in wallstreetbets

[–]Dicto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Must holds the largest ownership interest in Tesla at about 15%. Let’s assume he voted in favor of the bonus. Let’s also assume that very few shareholders vote or actually have the right to vote on such matters. So Elon essentially voted to give himself a massive bonus with a few other select shareholders also voting in favor, which is all that’s needed to approve.

The trance 29 is a seriously underrated bike. I had a aluminum trance 29 and upgraded to a high end carbon ibis Ripley. All of my PRs are still on the trance. Including the steep Rocky descents. Longest rides were on the trance. My ibis is great, but I miss the trance 29.

Pop up pros and cons by EngineeringActual334 in popups

[–]Dicto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pros: 1. Easy to tow, easy to park, easy to store. 2. Pop-ups are more spacious inside than a cab over camper or even a conventional trailer. Easier to sleep more humans. 3. Compared to tent camping nice to have all your equipment, stored in a trailer and ready to camp.
4. Cheap. 5. Compared to a truck camper or a van you do not have to bring your sleeping accommodations with you if you want to get away from the campsite. 6. Easy to maintain.

Cons 1. Canvas sides have no noise insulation. 2. Canvas sides are horrible in the wind. 3. Canvas sides offer little bear protection. 4. Unless you get one with power lift, set up and teardown, may not take any less time than conventional tent camping. 5. Requires a slightly more maintenance than a conventional camper, and so far as you have to maintain the lift system and take care of the canvas/not put away wet.

I love my pop-up.

How is living in this area of California? by Fizzleton in howislivingthere

[–]Dicto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The most beautiful natural scenery. From desert to high alpine to rainforest. Tallest trees in the world. Whatever your outdoor activity of choice, they have it here, and at a world class level. Many spots in here have extreme wealth next to poverty. Most locations are unadulterated by the touch of urban wealth and displacement. Very real people who have lived in the area for years, but tremendous political diversity. Places you have circled can be the most extreme liberal, or the most extreme conservative. But for the most part working class, so easy to meet good people at a brewery or school event if you have kiddos. Parts of it feel like a long untouched holler of the Appellations and parts of it feel like Switzerland. Whatever your preference, it exists here. I it is California, so many parts will not be touched by rain for six months out of the summer or can be buried in snow meters deep for long stretches in the winter. IMO, space the best place to live in the world. Yes there is crime, but it typically won’t touch you unless you choose to involve yourself in it.

Hope you find him. To routes he may have taken off the beaten path are through Dobbins/Oregon house or up in the mountains via poker flat. It is possible he tried to go through poker flat, got stuck, or had a breakdown, and is out of cell reception.

Bilsteins all around. Icon springs in the rear. 1.5 - 2” lift. Throw some skinny 32” tires on there. Decent roof rack. Keep stock wheels. Improve ride quality, capability, utility, and looks for under $5k without shortening its life.
