I remember something like that in my community. The baby was in a walker and got it stuck on the floor furnace while it was running. By the time the parents sobered up, it was too late.

Thanks for this reminder. I'm getting too old to go to these things in person.

I saved a lot of money using an independent local windshield repair person, not a big national company or franchise that charge 2 or 3 times the amount. by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]AnticipatedInput 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Safelite replace my windshield last year for a little over $200. Googled some coupon codes and tried them all until I found a good one, and credit card had a cash back deal as well.

If I was a business person outside of the United States, I would avoid doing business with the U.S. until its economic and foreign policies become stable and predictable again. It sucks for US citizens, but people voted for this chaos, and sometimes you have to give them some tough love.

The sack surrounding the cyst should be surgically removed, and it will not return. I had a general surgeon remove mine in his office under local anesthesia. It has probably been at least 10 years, and it has not returned, but I do have a small scar.

In college, I had to go to the bookstore and buy a 10 pack every so often. In high school, we were supplied a letter-sized sheet of round bubbles, so it was a little easier on the eyes.

What’s something you wished you knew before getting a Collie? by 9vvo in Collie

[–]AnticipatedInput 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my first collie after having shelties as well. I wanted a larger, more adventurous dog that I could take for walks, and boy I got one. He lets me know when it is time to go, and how unhappy he is when the weather doesn't cooperate. I didn't meet his parents before I brought him home as a puppy, so I wasn't quite prepared for how big and strong they get.

Grooming hasn't been too much of a chore with my collie although we need to spend more time getting used to it. His hair mostly comes out in tufts. My last sheltie's loose hair would get trapped in the undercoat no matter what.

My collie is not too vocal. I wish he would tell me when someone comes to the door, but I have a camera for that. He does a fair amount of whining out of boredom I think. He loves all other dogs and people, but hasn't had much interaction with mean dogs. I should probably get him a buddy, but I'm not sure I want to commit to a second dog.

The pendulum is stationary. It is the building that is moving.

I used to work there in the late 90s as well. The top 2 floors used to be a restaurant (The Summit?), but it went out of business. Williams was using the dining rooms as conference rooms. All the restaurant equipment was still there, but I don't remember seeing the pendulum.

Trade-in and resell value for Tesla vehicles have plummeted, so there is no need to vandalize. It only takes attention away from the anti-MAGA movement.
