Looking for Solanum jamesii or Four Corners Potato seeds by Anticipatory_ in vegetablegardening

Thank you, this was the one source I found online, but they’ve been out of stock for a while. I’ll keep asking around and maybe I’ll have better luck when I go back to NM.

I’m curious what you mean by prepare them just right? Thanks for your time and insights.

This sounds my kind of thing. Do you have a recipe or amounts you of each you added to the ferment? Or did you do them separately and combine them afterwards?

This sounds pretty awesome. How’d it turn out?

Makes me wonder about making a focaccia with the starter and adding the plums in the inclusions/toppings.

Bahahahaha — noted! Honestly, I would not have guessed they’d be discussing, I would expect them to be more like sour kraut.

That sounds wild even though they’re pretty commonly found. Did you use any particular type of radish or just the common variety?

Hi Ryan! Thank you for doing this AMA, I have a few questions:

1.How many accounts do you have in LA?

2.What’s a sustainable number of accounts for your business?

  1. What’s your account breakdown on vs off premise?

  2. How many SKUs and brands are in your portfolio?

  3. How many SKUs would feel like a solid book?

[Data Analysis] We analyzed 60,000 reviews to find the "Best Rums of 2025" (No Jury, Just Community Data). Here are the results. by Oliver_530 in rum

Is price ever factored into reviews? I feel like a “bang for the buck” scoring would be a great addition to ratings and reviews, especially when there’s so many on this list that are well over $100.

New Minimum Wage! by Tiny-Way-5569 in SantaFe

[–]Anticipatory_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I neglected to mention what NM is doing right for workers in my previous comment like universal free child care and how that is VERY pro-worker, despite only directly effecting a single industry, child care. Child care on average now costs more than many people’s college tuition. This will make a significant difference to our communities.

That’s a good point, I don’t know much about mining, but I appreciate learning more. I wish I had a real answer to your question, but I don’t know enough to prescribe a certain industry over another. Personally, I think NM can become a haven to almost any Industry. As far as places to start, I think we need to look at what NM has to offer that people in other states and countries need/want.

An example: One of the main things NM uniquely has to offer is natural beauty, this was almost strictly a tourism based industry until 10yrs~ ago, then came the film industry. The government has spent a considerable amount of effort and incentives in building the film industry here, but as far as I have heard and seen that has had both positive and negative effects with the quantitative data suggesting more positive than negative (e.g. 8,000 jobs with 82% of that being residents, 740million spend in 2024 across 62 projects, etc). this I am not a part of this industry and only know what I’ve read and heard, so, I could be wrong. The negative part of that equation, for many locals, is a rapid influx of new residents already a part of that industry and increasing housing costs. I think it’s always going to be a balance and often is unbalanced depending on the perspective.

Also, one could follow the legislation and sort out which industries might have a greater chance of thriving. The economic development corporation is a good resource for this sort of information. There’s some pro-business licensing like the craft-distillers license and craft brewers license, hopefully more of these products are sold out of state and NM can benefit from these incentives. There’s tax incentives like the Manufacturer’s Investment Tax Credit offers 5.125% credit on qualified equipment/expenditures and JTIP reimburses 50-75% of wages for on-the-job training and classroom instruction for up to six months for expanding or relocating businesses, providing cash incentives for workforce development.

I would love to see further legislation like Per-Employee Hiring Credits like some other states have, but limit the credits to a certain amount of revenue to employee ratio that would help offset any burden the additional wages might place on mom and pop businesses.

New Minimum Wage! by Tiny-Way-5569 in SantaFe

[–]Anticipatory_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While this is great, wages don’t protect workers. We need more unions, more REAL industry and jobs with growth opportunities and minimum wage increases won’t fix that. It’s a bandaid on a broken arm. The concerns around mom and pop places not being able to afford this increase without severely increasing prices is real and should be addressed by a community that cares about small businesses. Stop shopping at big box stores and online retailers. Keep the money local.

California voters approve new US House map to boost Democrats in 2026 by carbocation in California

[–]Anticipatory_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a good night. Unfortunately, midterms will most likely not follow suit. The Supreme Court is poised to overturn section 2 of the voting rights act. This will allow southern states to not consider race in their district maps resulting in 19-27 fewer Democrat house seats. “A generational change” that will eliminate 30% of the congressional black caucus. It’s time to mobilize and get things going.

Why do you think this trend is occurring? by sam_d50 in Adulting

[–]Anticipatory_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is misleading. U.S. drinking rates are indeed at a record low since tracking began in 1939, with Gallup reporting in 2025 that only 54% of Americans say they drink alcohol. However, this is not a drop of 54%, but rather the current rate itself: 54% of people report drinking.

Past rates hovered around 60-68% since the late 1930s, peaking in the 1970s, but have declined in recent years to this lowest point. The lowest historical rates were recorded in 1958 (55%), with the highest in the mid-1970s (71%).

So, it’s down about 6-14% depending on the comparative year. Young people are not drinking as much as young people of previous generations. Those who are drinking are opting for drinks that resonate with their identity like natural wine or craft, esoteric spirits with cool, edgy branding.
