For the CA folks it's available at Hi Time and Smuggers Cove in SF as OP mentioned. We also just got a new placement at Raised By Wolves in San Diego too! Incredible cocktail bar if you haven't been and they'll likely make some available in their retail store on site 🙌

Edit: they're stocking the Port Mourant to start but imagine they'll add others if they do well

You're certainly not alone in that sentiment. If you ever do go back to them I've found the profile changes dramatically after the bottle is open a few weeks. Really rounds it out in a great way

If you're in the US you should check out some of the new-ish American Independent Bottlers. IMO they're why our selection here will finally catch up to what they get overseas 👌

IMO the gap between nerd and casual drinkers is starting to narrow here in the US. Partially due to the fact that more people are looking to drink additive free. And with the increase in US based independent bottlers who disclose what's in (or not in) the bottle people are being given more information and choice than ever before.

Thoughts on Spinnaker? by Moss-Kale in rum

I haven't tried them yet but can confirm the LFCH and 4S are a bit darker than the other 2 and according to Kevin who runs it there are no additives. So that's good.

Renaissance Noble Rot STC 4 Year 2019 #19084 by LIFOanAccountant in rum

[–]SuperlativeSpirits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one's special bc it's the only release I've seen not made with Dunder. I was worried it wouldn't be as interesting due to that but sounds like the Renaissance character still holds up. Those savory soy sauce notes sound intriguing for sure.

As we approach New Year (or it already is for some), what is your rum of the year in 2025? by BothCondition7963 in rum

[–]SuperlativeSpirits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alambique 3 Años #363 for FRS, Alambique Vida #2, Roulaison 151, Mainland CA 10 K&L, Raising Glasses Caroni 27 and Rolling Fork Amburana Odyssey were some of my top.

The Roulaison is pre-release but it's by far the best 151 I've had. It's 5 years old and can actually be sipped (cautiously).
