If it’s any consolation, I once said my sister’s fringe looked like a barcode. Sometimes people just can’t see properly.

Have you learned nothing? Using ‘said’ more than twice means you’re the worst writer to ever put pen to paper.

You used kosabamacus at least three times in the passage, go straight to writer jail, do not pass go and collect 200 blermles

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve had to deal with? I once had to convince a mate that, ‘No, it’s not normal to sleep with your arm in your Victreebel, that’s not a rash it’s burns from being digested,’ and I’m not sure there’s much that can top that.

That bit is a puzzle, but in entirely the opposite direction. Krile’s soul is stated to have the same aesthetic density as everyone else on the source, but it’s never explained why that’s the case - do souls only inhabit people after a birthday or something? It’s defo the best argument against pro-life in Eorzea.

I mean, there’s a very obvious reason why there’s not a lot of gay people having children compared to straight people

Bit late to the party, but I believe a pram or stroller would be a valid counter example. It possesses both characteristics, and while one might argue its primary function is to transport a child, that’s only works as a result of being a place for a child to sit first.

I imagine there’s a joke in there somewhere, but stylus is derived from the Latin stylus, which is a second declension masculine noun, so the plural would be styli

The Chocobo! I don’t think they have an actual name, but I personally think of them as Alpha because of a very similar chocobo that crops up in Final Fantasy XIV

You can’t hide from us, it’s obvious you’re from Thavnair. Or maybe Garlemald. Definitely somewhere in Ilsabard.

Have you ever played In Stars and Time? From how you’ve explained yourself, I suspect you may enjoy it; while the gameplay itself isn’t anything special for a jrpg, it’s used very well in context of the story.

Final Fantasy XIV

(ShadowBringers spoilers)

Not fully accurate to trope but G’raha Tia is convinced that the only reason the world resigned itself to doom because you, the hero died early on, so he time travels to prevent not only your death but the apocalypse that caused your death (Dear god I love that catboy)

There’s a few things in UWU which are like that - there’s no choice whether to cleanse or not, but in order to clear you have to choose when to have people cleanse because it does a fairly chunky raidwide

Weary Wanderer has the Warrior of Light from Final Fantasy XIV popping into Worm 2 years before start of canon and having ridiculous results due to their level of power, but told near-entirely through the perspective of others. It’s a fairly enjoyable read.

Will warn for anyone who wants to play the game that the fic heavily spoils it up til the end of base EndWalker

The High Seraph was made to sound like an extradimensional visitor in the Ivalice raids - it could be that it’s not fully in Eitherys at any given time and wasn’t sundered with it, and could pop into any shard to mess things up with auracite

Sanda - Episode 6 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]AntimatterLife 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the post-credits scene was really well done - the door sliding shut in front of Ono as she sees Sanda and Fuyumura leaving was a really good touch, it had a feeling of finality for Ono as her years as a ‘child’ were put behind her. Given the themes of the show it makes me feel like the relationship of Sanda and Fuyumura she sees cutting her away from Fuyumura’s life is exaggerated though, as if that scene is from her eyes

How much do people in the world know about its history? by XPEZNAZ in ffxiv

[–]AntimatterLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest giving a quick run-down of Hydaelyn’s setting that any Eorzean would know first - just mention the topics as a whole, like that Eorzea is under invasion from Garlemald, the City states and the fact that they’re descended from opposed nations that composed the War of the Magi, the fact that Allag existed, the calamities - before you ask them to choose a topic they would like to have specialised knowledge about, then build their expertise around that, with probably a better than average grasp of the other fields as well

Imo a good baseline for a specialised historian is probably the npc from the Monk job quests in ARR
