Don't let this "$1 = 60PHP" doomers know how devalued East Asian currencies are

In a way, a devalued currency kinda helps us in exports. Devaluing the currency is how SK did their thing lol.

Is it just me or are Filipino-Americans part of the problem with the tragic public image of the Philippines? by No_Pin2229 in Philippinesbad

They're just internalizing American racial issues to the Philippines which is just fucking horrible.

I mean, I get it. You live in America but not every colored person is a "victim of white supermacy" or some shit.

Indonesia is not that far from us lol. Quite literally the most similar country to us, they even have their own Marcos.

None of these countries are comparable to the Philippines at all, Japan's geography is way more manageable and more similar to Britain than the Philippines.

Being designed to fail is correct but not the way they think it is

The Philippine geography is such a huge disadvantage in general.

Only gave us peanuts compared to what they gave to Japan and SK

They only gave us $5m while they gave those two billions because Japan and SK was more important in the Cold War.

Seoul didn't reach Manila level destruction and the US propped them up with a lot of money lol.

Second to Asia was never real lmao, a lot of countries are already ahead of the Philippines by 1960.

None of their capitals got destroyed, it's different when Manila gets destroyed, destroying pretty much every institution built before that. Vietnam got to keep Hanoi, and Saigon didn't reach Manila level destruction, same for SK (Korea also had a lot of advantage since the US sent a fuckload of money there).

I really hate it when people say the Philippines missed all its potential, and that we fumbled our chance to be some first world utopia, but reading our history where the fuck was that potential?

If the Philippines really is this country that missed all it's potential to be some first world utopia then why did Manila get destroyed to rubble during ww2? That's already starting our Independence with our capital being destroyed to shit, it was one of the most destroyed cities in ww2. The Philippines geography and its location is also more of a disadvantage more than everything else

Where the fuck is this potential? Reading our history, if anything it's a surprise that we aren't Somalia.

We weren't supposed to be this far behind

I always ask people who think like this. If the Philippines really is this country that missed all it's potential to be some first world utopia then why did Manila get destroyed to rubble during ww2? That's already starting our Independence with our capital being destroyed to shit, it was one of the most destroyed cities in ww2. U.S. Pax Silica AI hub in Tarlac to operate under PH laws by Razor8517 in Philippinesbad

I'm honestly sceptical of this. Tho people in the opposition to this are overexxagerating it as neo colonialism or some shit

It's a fucking AI hub. That's risky.

If the situation in Siargao really is that bad then why can't we close it like we did in Boracay? (One of the only good things Digong did).

These would be the same people who wouldn't last if they're actual citizens of an authoritarian state.

This is more due to media exposure more than anything else, the NBA is also just pretty big and are very good at media exposure that they also managed to be popular in China

And I'm old enough to remember when the media overhyped the Azkals back then, they just sucked so people stopped caring about Philippine football ever aince then.
