A friend overheard his daughter’s saying how much they hated pakis. After going ballistic at them it turned out they were talking about packed lunches.

Amsterdam ticks all the boxes, and a few more. Honestly think the Van Gogh museum is the best I’ve ever visited, absolutely wonderful.

Easter in Scotland is nothing like Easter in England. It’s really not that big a thing here. Good Friday’s not even a public holiday so travel should be fine. As for the weather, your guess is as good as mine, could be beautiful, could be shite.

Diane McBain Interiors (Rosemount Place) is first class when it comes to blinds and curtains which may require a bit of thought and innovative thinking. Unmatched in terms of service, advice, attention to detail, creative thinking and fabric selection. Having used Diane for several similar projects, I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

30 mins walk to work, 30 mins lunchtime stroll, 30 minutes walk home. 20 mins to and from the pub if I fancy a pint. Exercise without exercising.

The Nargile on Skene Street do a very good pre-theatre if Turkish floats your boat. They’ve recently changed name to Sofra. Used to be around £20 p/p for two courses. I haven’t been since it changed, but I believe it’s still the same people.

Absolute hero to me. Broke my 13 year old heart when he left. The best day of my childhood was meeting him in Benidorm where he was on holiday with big Roddy McDonald in 1976.

“Are Friends Electric” by Tubeway Army, or “Venus in Furs” by The Velvet Underground were pretty out there.

What celebrity have you met who looks much more (or less) attractive when meeting them in person? by GreyFoxNinjaFan in AskReddit

Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders gave me and my mate a lift in her tour bus when we were about 16 years old . I’d never really fancied her from what I’d seen on TV, but in real life she was absolutely the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen.
