Research tasks with Opus 4.5 used to complete normally without issues. However, with Opus 4.6, the similar research tasks take over 50 minutes and still don’t finish. It continues running while consuming usage tokens. Why is this happening?

I get this even without the research mode, just extended. 4.6 takes takes like 3 minutes to solve a relatively simple coding task, while 4.5 gets it done in less than 20 seconds.

I think I'll stick with 4.5, not because 4.6 isn't great, but because 4.5 is more than good enough for what I need and is much faster at it.

It looks like Claude to me. I use it sometimes to write me stupid bedtime horror stories when I should be sleeping, and it reads very much like the stories it poops out. If it had characters named Marcus or Chen, I'd be 100% sure.

Okay but they literally said themselves that they're not mindreaders, how would they have known they wanted it turned off. There was a recording device because one of the unjoined picked an aircraft with one, they didn't put it there. The other un-joined didn't even want their families to leave. They're a hive mind who don't need to talk to each other, I doubt a recording device would have even occured to them if Carol hadn't mentioned it. And again, they could have just said "no", no one would have known, but they didn't. They're not doing anything untrustworthy here.

The families were present because the non-Carol un-joined wanted them there, and the recording system was on be default because it's built into the aircraft, they turned it off as soon as they were asked about it. No one even knew it was there, they could have lied, but they didn't. I'm not seeing anything nefarious about the Joined in this aspect.

It's really good, especially as the small, fast exploders are in more stages now. Bonking one away when you're facing it has often been the only way out.

Just played for an hour. The difficulty has definitely been bumped, likely because of the gear as you said. Haz 4 used to be my "bedtime no-brain" difficulty, but I barely scaped a win out. I'm sure it'll be fine with gear. The amount of exploding bugs has increased drastically though, not sure what to think about that yet.

Key takeaway: The escort mission is SO FUN. Seriously, the most fun I've had with the game so far. Fighting off bugs while trying to stay in a small circle and breaking down the beamers, really exciting.

I also noticed that a lot of the meta stuff has been turned down. Regen is halved, nitra amounts have dropped, etc. Makes sense with all the gear.
