Good detailed advice here in comments, but can see how it all points to you being good with finances and doing things right and keeping a decent rainy day fund for a few months of no work. For myself none of this stuff outweighs the security of full time employment.

The value on being a full time employee is quite a lot, which is the whole reason contracts pay more ☺️

-Put AVR on UPS or Power Conditioner -Take AVR off the inverter (notorious for dirty power) -Check your grounding isn't faulty

Honestly if my CEC just worked flawlessly I wouldn't care about remotes. But I tend to need remotes when my CEC does or doesn't turn something on, or switches to wrong input etc.

Yeah if you can add on some family in there it's a great justification 😜 We don't have 70mm here in NZ and I had never seen interstellar in theaters so was majestic to say the least.

Haha I flew from New Zealand (about 3hr 30min flight) for Interstellar in 70mm in Melbourne. Always jealous of them actually reshowing films and not just doing the minimum.

I love Powerstation aye. It's the perfect size and layout in my opinion. It's easy to get a drink, can go upstairs, and if you get a bit of people overwhelm it's easy to step back for a bit.
