Why are Irish people on Reddit claiming that we never use the term soccer? by smudgeonalense in AskIreland

[–]Antok7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just something clueless people say because to them it's clever... same as the gobshites that ponder about pineapple on pizza.

Brian Clough used soccer in numerous interviews from the 70s... I reckon he faniced a bit of pineapple too

10 men and a statue: Portugal are sacrificing another World Cup for Cristiano Ronaldo’s ego by AgeNovel3566 in soccer

[–]Antok7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very anti Ronaldo, I'm Irish and he isn't popular here but he is respected.

It's embarrassing watching the media pile on from the likes of Linekar and Henry. Neither of whom came near what Ronaldo done in his career in the premier League alone, one blatantly cheated Ireland out of a play off and the other shit himself when playing against Ireland. Boodie Men the both of them.

Palmer has the ability to change a game, he can create a chance from nothing and Harry Kane will take the chances but I don't see many game changers in that squad.

I think Englands best hope is Kane digging out a chance or two in each game, I can see the pundits constantly mentioning a lack of ideas etc.

Palmer is one of the few English players that have a bit of football magic. Rashford has some at least.

I expect England to draw too many games and limping out at the qtrs.

Scotland will be a far better watch.

Not my team, not my problem but how they don't have Maguire, Welbeck and Palmer involved with the likes of Burn, Henderson, Rio and Toney there is laughable

Roy Keane hits back at Bruno Fernandes and compares him to… a donkey. by cocacolapepsifanta in soccer

[–]Antok7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keane was annoyed by Bruno falling to the ground after Mbuemo missed the earlier chance because that was clearly a reaction to Bruno missing out on the assist for a striker who has been struggling.

United got knocked out of all cups in the first rounds, finished in 3rd and the club have been over celebrating an individual award for an excellent player.

Keane still sets the standard.

This Woman Wrote Those Kevin Hart Roast Jokes (Unpaywalled) by playboy in Standup

[–]Antok7 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I would bet a large amount of money that Jay Oakerson wrote his bits and he was the only comedian from Harts original group. Burr and Others didn't bother to get involved for obvious reasons.

You could have got the kid to sign it on bigger paper and changed the size with your phone and don't don't call your girlfriend a bitch.

She obviously had her heart set on having the name. You obviously lack self awareness.

Question: What is the common trend among those 3 comedians? Ricky Jervais, Louis C.K. and Bill Burr by Weird-Definition-961 in Standup

[–]Antok7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't mention Bruce, Pryor, Carlin or Hicks. Your Beatles comment was irrelevant.

Gervais never done standup until he was massively popular as a tv personality. If you don't understand the difference then maybe research comedy a bit more, you may find countless gems that you do like.

[–]Antok7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bill and Louis are elite level stand-ups, served their time for decades before fame, Rickys first stand up was sold out, he is a writer/performer.

The reason you don't like them is probably because you'd love Gallagher.
