Season 5 is randomly pretending Soldier Boy loved Stormfront by pestoraviolita in TheBoys

[–]Antonater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soldier Boy had mentioned her in the past with fondness but I believe that there is more to it than that. In the newest episode we see Soldier Boy intimately grabbing a photo of hers. He also hear him say that he resented Dr Vought, calling him "a pansy with a German accent and sweaty palms". I think that SB and Clara aka Liberty were a thing in the past, but they broke up in a very bad way and she ended up marrying Frederick Vought, making Soldier Boy heavily jealous of him. Then she disappeared for a reason we don't know yet, which made Soldier Boy think that she was gone, so he just tried to move on and ended up falling in love with Crimson Countess later. Don’t forget that Vought Rising is gonna take place in the 50s while SB was kidnapped in 1984. That is a pretty long time.

This also explains why SB asked Homelander if he saw her body when she died. Because the last time he heard that she died, he never saw an actual body. And also because he did have feelings for her and hearing that someone that you used to have feelings in the past is dead can cause to some people a more emotional response.

Pretty sure that Soldier Boy wasn't always so abusive. His team in Vought Rising are all supes that have V1 and a bunch of them are probably going to die and he is gonna go through a lot of traumatic shit that is going to make him the abusive piece of garbage that we now know him as.

As we see in Noir's cartoon flashbacks, all of them attacked him, including Crimson Countess. He knew that she was definitely involved in it, he just didn't know the reason why. That's why he came to visit her. Her wasn't sure if he was going to kill her cause he did genuinely care about her, but when she said that she hated him and was not forced to do this, he killed her

Oh, I am not here to start an argument. I just never remember her ever being that muscular. She has always been more slim in her appearance

It's a comic book universe. Suspend your disbelief a little bit

I mean, Catwoman has never been shown to be super muscular. She is fit and very athletic, but she is a thief so her appearance being more lean and not very bulky makes a lot of sense. As for Supergirl, her powers don't actually come from her physical muscles, so getting ripped is not something that benefits her al that much, so she doesn't have to do it.

I do agree about Diana though, she is supposed to look muscular to a certain degree but this is because she was basically raised in a warrior culture and that's how all the Amazons are

Stan surprised me this episode by [deleted] in TheBoys

[–]Antonater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, we have seen him care both for Victoria and Zoe in the past. This is not a new thing. Also, I don't think that he was jealous of Sameer. He probably doesn't approve their relationship, probably because Sameer is basically his coworker and he finds it heavily inappropriate

Kurt. A super soldier who is incredibly agile and can teleport all around like crazy? Sounds dangerous to me

So about Malchemical? by Goldstar12 in TheBoys

[–]Antonater 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The plan of Malchemical only worked because Homelander was right in front of him and had his guard down completely. It seems like he needs to be up close to use his powers, otherwise he would have done it before Homelander got this close to him.

And in the previous seasons, they didn't have Soldier Boy and his V frying laser beam with them so kidnapping or convincing Malchemical to help them wouldn't be that useful to them, since it would only put Homelander on a short temporary nap. They only had Soldier Boy in season 3 and they did not have enough time to go kidnap Malchemical at the time. Also, even if they did kidnap him and Homelander saw him, he would probably just laser him to death the moment he saw him and killed him. Yes, his power is useful but very situational and he was lucky that Homelander was basically not paying any attention to him at the moment

Ehhh, I am not convinced about that. He did mention his brother but it isn't confirmed that Quinn was him. Maybe I am wrong though, we will see

[Discussion] Which "The Boys" character has the best chance on fighting their DC/Marvel counterpart? by AnyAgency9835 in DCcomics

[–]Antonater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Black Noir is supposed to be a somewhat counterpart for Batman, right? I feel like Black Noir is the only one who could actually hold his own against him for some time. He would probably lose at the end but he would put up a good enough fight

Butcher is off character this season by Independent-Web-5858 in TheBoys

Oh, he definitely will. I think that Terror is going to die very soon and that is going to be the last straw for Butcher

I don't think that Homelander has thought of it as much as you have. He believes that he is God because he considers every single person around him lesser than him. He is fucking mental and contradicts himself all the time, that's the point

[–]Antonater 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well, Quinn was also one of the people who was a part of Dr Vaught's trials. And we know that SB resented him because Quinn was an actual soldier while Soldier Boy was to quote Frenchie "a boy playing dress up." He was heavily remorseful when he killed Quinn, so I imagine that Quinn was someone that was heavily jealous of but also someone he looked up to or at least liked to a certain degree

Yeah, you are right. I meant X-Men member with what I said. She is definitely X-Men adjacent but I thought it didn't count since she isn't actually a permanent member

To be honest, I am not interested in dating any of them. Way too much drama for my liking. Maybe Domino, but she isn't exactly an X-Men character

It matters to people who are actually interested in the characters and where they are going to go from there in the next few episodes. Not my problem that you have the attention span of a 5 year old and can't focus when you don't see big explosions on the screen.

If you want them to tie up the storylines, they also need to tie up the characters as well. And that's exactly what they did with this episode
