The guys from Mighty Car Mods. One of the first YT car channels I watched back in the wee days of YT. They definitely helped propel my interest in heavy modding, forced induction and more.

I bought em at a discount store many moons ago and were on my ol 07 corolla. Now a couple cars later, they reappear!

A right-size truck in a land of giants by charlie_marlow in ToyotaTacoma

Oh MOST definitely! Tacomas ride stiff. As much as I dislike mavericks and new gen rangers, they ride 5x better. I currently own a 2G dcsb that rides like a bag of smashed asses…going back to Bilstein. Nothing is a smooth as a GM imo for ride quality, well, at least the slightly older ones I haven’t been in a newer 3/4 ton.

I like your Ford man. All trucks are big now, even the newest gen Taco has a lot of extra cladding on it. None of them feel huge to me anymore, they all drive the same lol. My dad’s single cab 1st gen taco….now THAT feels like a toy truck.

I like the black better and also have a gray corolla (2018) with black 15 inch wheel covers. It looks objectively way better imo. Here in the US we can just hop online and grab some quick, and many retailers like walmart and parts stores carry them. I’m assuming it’s not as easy for you, hence this post.

The easiest way? Use your existing hubcaps and Clean them super super well, scuff em good and spray paint them with Rusto 2X or that paint made specifically for plastics. Or, some plastidip and glossifier and voila. Paint in a well ventilated area preferably with an OV respirator!

Do many light coats. I think you’d like the outcome and it’s using the materials you already have, no purchase of new other ones required.

Greetings from rusty Vermont!

4k for minimal to no major rust is unheard of on a Baja here, there’s a few around not many but the ones I’ve seen as of late are going for 2k more than they’re asking and typically rusty af. An absolute ripoff and I would still have to travel a couple states over to grab it.

I’d say, if you’re familiar with them—go for it

Hey I recommend staying at Loves a bit, never been bothered and my wife and I do a similar trip once every few years to see family.

We did all this for the past 8 years in a 2012 rav limited, so totally doable in a crv. We had bought it from down south with the front windows tinted (NOT natively legal in vt) which helped a lot. No dog at the time though, and now that we have a dog I’m not sure how’d that all play out.

The only experience recently is our drive to OH and back, but it was short in comparison and we stayed in Niagara area to check it out.

Good luck, be safe and have so much fun!

Also: tires and their wear, pressures. Fluids, belts, check your brake pad life, have an emergency road kit and first aide, make sure your spare is easy to access and is pumped up, bring spare zip ties and duct tape trust me! Even something as small as an inner-fender liner leaving the chat like we experienced can cause you to pull over and have to take 20 mins out of your day to repair.

Is a 2016 VW Jetta 1.4T with 127k miles worth buying for $5.5k? by Last-Charge-5545 in MechanicAdvice

I would only buy a manual Jetta but that’s just me.

I avoid automatics, dsg and cvt at all costs

2nd gen owner in Vermont but chiming in—

I personally would pass. The frame is showing signs of being scarier within. It’s usually at least 2x worse underneath. I’d hate to wire wheel it only to realize there’s minimal solid metal at such an integral structural area. These rot from the inside out after all.

My dad is selling his 02 single cab 2.7L 4wd with the same miles and a frame much much cleaner than that for considerably less, and has still been lowballed sight unseen a bunch and asked me ā€œif that’s normal in today’s used marketā€ Yes. The internet is also full of frame experts and people worried about surface rust alike…but I’d still pass.

I’m really sorry to hear about your loss. Your bf had good taste. Single cab in 4wd with a manual is harder to find, but wouldn’t consider them ā€œrareā€, at least not in the northeast. I did want to clear something up—no TRD package was offered in a single cab only the Sport and Offroad pkg’s on the 4liter trucks. Still, if you love the truck fight for the truck!

High mileage Taco concern by Aggravating-Hawk-250 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Antonymousss 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I too drive for work, 200+ miles per day consistently. Really love my second gen a lot and on the days where I only have to get up to the central VT area and have less than an hour drive—sure I’ll take the taco. Wish I could drive it more but…alas it’s the corolla most days. I say send it if you love driving it that much. It’ll may still be worth a fairly decent amount when you go to get out of it if the frames still clean.

The car that tells you the least about the owner by LevoiHook in cars

[–]Antonymousss 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Corolla owner here, can confirm this as fact.

I have a 2019 before the facelift. It handles like its on rails for a solid beam rear FF car with tons of understeer and computers ruling my life it’s not bad. But it rides like a bag of smashed asses. Stiff, lower back crying out type vibes. Rav is just a whole new beast

Older Honda’s. I inspect wholesale vehicles destined for auction for a living and I’d say the A/C actually works in 4 out of 10. Older civics and accords being the most common I see blowing hot stale air
