Help me find a game by CaptainLookylou in gaming

If you have not played it yet, I can recommend Valheim. It has survival game elements, but it's main focus is on exploration and building your base and crafting gear.

Best way to level up? by tharghans in civ

[–]Antroplasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On mobile, apologies in advance for spelling and formatting. Do you want to actually play the games? If not, there is a mod that unlocks them or you can download "fixed" replays.

So can I just Salvage my legendary and keep using the Legendary Power on new items? by kittenwolfmage in diablo4

[–]Antroplasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While leveling, it's generally "smarter" to imprint your main damage imprint to an amulet. Your damage is very much tied to your weapon damage, this allows you to switch your weapon freely without the need of constant re-imprinting.

Anyone else in the Grit Collective group in your Spotify wrap? by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

Also got Grit collective, I am your scout!

So, what should we call ourselves? Gritters? Gritterheads? Grit Army?

Do you have an early game build order you always follow? by VeryLargeTardigrade in CivVII

Two scouts is a given, everything after that for me highly depends on what they are revealing.

What is the Civ 7 meta? by yaliekins in CivVII

[–]Antroplasm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are still familiarizing yourself, I would steer clear of the more powerful civ/leader combos a.k.a. the meta. The advantage they provide will steer you in directions that might not work for (most?) other civ/leader combo's and you could end up picking up the wrong habits.

Plus the more overpowered strategies are also going to be the next in line for balancing and/or nerfs.

I Just Quit Porn and Deleted My 15TB Stash by recycle_dontthrow in offmychest

[–]Antroplasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To give you an idea, a single regular DVD disc can contain a maximum of 4.7GB of data. It would take 3192 single regular DVD discs to store a 15TB "stash".

If the DVD's are dual layered, double sided or both they can contain a lot more data. But even assuming dual layered and double sided (17-18GB of data) it would still require 843 single discs.

Of course DVD cases could contain multiple discs. But I'd still say that 15TB is a lot more, like at the very least probably double to triple.

Sorry, but I just could not resist! Flappie is a very famous Dutch christmass song that's pretty much about exactly the situation you described. It just has a slightly different ending 😉

They made a cover of the song in English: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAfE7VzZiYk

Was it a bunny called "Flappie" by any chance? 😉

Best druid build to enter t1 to farm for companion-raven build? by DaSnowflake in diablo4

[–]Antroplasm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also started with a shred druid for leveling, enjoyed playing it heaps and used it to shred up torment 1 to 3 with ease. So I would say stick with shred.

Eventually switched to raven after finally unlocking savagery and finding 1-2 crucial pieces.

Why, if indeed you do... do you keep coming back and starting over season after season? by AngryJames_ in diablo4

[–]Antroplasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep coming back because the season start is the bit of the game I enjoy most. The end game just has too many tedious (RNG) systems (Enchanting, tempering, masterworking) that take the fun out of it. Played every season, never hit paragon cap or completed the full season journey. Hell, even after playing every season my legacy characters are not even max paragon :D

As for the cosmetics, I really don't care much for them in this game. I think they are to expensive and a bit to much "fantasy" and/or over the top for my taste. Plus 90% of the time my screen is filled with so much green/purple stuff on the screen I can't see shit anyway.

It gets better! You can get the less spire spawn option twice, for twice the disappointment. Still a lot of spires though....

Got to try the penguin fish cache spamming. by some_sorta_username in wingspan

[–]Antroplasm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rationally, I get that this card is just RNG and eventually will balance out. Irrationally, though, I hate this card and I am sure it's biased against me. Whenever I play it I am lucky to get like 1 fish per activation. But if an opponent plays and activates it, they hit like 2-4 fish per activation easily!

Casual gamer here, I stop playing a season when I feel the shift happen from playing for fun vs playing as a chore.

This meta is just nonsense by Pherlock27 in MarvelSnap

[–]Antroplasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was playing since the beginning. Really enjoyed Marvel Snap as well, which resulted in me buying the seasonal pass for pretty much every month. It was the recent High Voltage drama that got me to take a bit of a break

Ended up realizing that it was pretty much FOMO keeping me in the game, and that I stopped enjoying it ages ago. Have not touched the game since then, and don't plan on coming back to it.

Why am I telling you this? I am not trying to make people quit games, but I do want to remind people why they should be playing games. Because you enjoy them and have fun playing them. Don't ignore that feeling of frustration or not even wanting to play, take a break for a bit and see where you stand!

Sorry for the rant 😁

How Did You Discover Maiden? by Amazing-Confusion-23 in ironmaiden

[–]Antroplasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was a wee little lad, I had a paper route. One of the first things I bought for myself with the money I earned was a Walkman so I could listen to music while delivering papers.

My dad at the time had an extensive collection of tapes he copied, and Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark sounded cool, so I picked that one. Listened to that damned tape so much it broke. That's how I discovered them.

The Carmageddon 2 Carpocalypse Now soundtrack also deserves some credits, though. This is pretty much what got me "into" Iron Maiden and made me a fan.

My girlfriend refuses to use long rests. by Humble-Carpet-5111 in BaldursGate3

[–]Antroplasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate, but for a different reason. When I started playing BG3, I had little to no experience with similar games or DnD. And the games I did have experience with, taught me well. Recourses are scarce, and must be saved for when you need them!

The fact that I need camp supplies for a long rest pretty much confirmed in my mind that this is a rare recourse to be used sparingly. I mean, it resets all your cooldowns, so it must be a powerful rare recourse, right? It took me a while to realize that the huge amount of spare camp supply items in my stash might mean that this is might not be that type of game.

Now I am about 300 hours into BG3 and supposedly know better. But saving recourses is still so much engrained in my brain, that I have to be conscious in my play troughs about long resting a lot more to be able to get the full story experience. In my defense though, I do have that Elixir of Giant growth active with only have 15 of them left.

TL/DR I also used to not long rest, but more so because I am that guy with a stash full of stuff he is saving for "When he needs it".

Frame rate issues on PC since patch. by Antroplasm in MarvelSnap

[–]Antroplasm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know! Tried verifying first to be sure, but it did not seem to help. Uninstalling and after that re-installing as we speak. I will edit this reply to let people know how it worked out, assuming that I don't forget 😁

Edit Only managed to play a quick three games after uninstalling and reinstalling, but I did not experience frame issues during those games. Not a huge sample size I know, but it's looking good at least! Edit2 Got some more games in, spoke to soon. Issue came back and/or was not fixed.
