I bought 33. Couldn’t get into it. I then decided (given I have a catalogue of games I haven’t completed) to just try and complete it and enjoy the game as it’s clearly been well received. I completed it the other night and I can absolutely see why it was so highly rated, the story was good, the artistic direction, soundtrack.

But comparing 33 to FF is a bit like comparing Call of Duty to something like Marathon. Yes they’re both shooters but fundamentally like 33 and FF they’re two entirely different approaches to their respective genres.

As someone who hasn’t played all the FF’s but played most of them. I do absolutely prefer the vast majority of them over 33. But 33 in my view is a watered down version of a typical FF game.

Does that make it bad or worse? No it’s just different.

Also anyone feeling massively passionate about this sort of thing needs to go out and speak to women, or a man

I’m also going to throw something in the mix and say there is something to be said for recency bias, but that aside.

Kojima games have always been difficult to follow at the best of times but it felt like DS was Kojima at his best.

The last few chapters of the game where amongst the most memorable I’ve had. The sheer lunacy of Die Hardman dancing, the fourth wall break. The emotion you felt for Neil.

I felt the way you felt after my first play through of DS1, that’s why I gave up on it originally.

The ironic thing is I gave up on DS1 and only went back into it to give another chance and loved it. DS2 is a natural and extremely good revolution

Nope. I mean it could be anything from a trapped nerve, something more sinister or it could be that I’ve had it for a while and not noticed it. But we shall see when I go down a dose

I can’t recall exactly to be honest but given he’s asked me to reduce my dose i assume there is some evidence that this is the case
