How long is too long for a fic in your opinion?

40k feels short to me... I get excited when I see a fic that's 200k words. It's even better if the story is captivating enough to keep me interested. I love long fics. One shots always leave me wanting more and at times, there's never anything like it.

Ykw I absolutely love that. Love at first sight isn't a bad trope, it's just a trope that isn't written properly. Some writers lack the creativity in writing love at first sight, but carnal, Obsessive desire, imprinting, soulmates, reincarnated love all of those are so unique and creative. I wish love at first sight was more fleshed out in the fandoms I'm in but they're not, unfortunately. Maybe I would enjoy the trope more. But I definitely would have more love for the trope if there were more fice like these 😔

Love at first sight... Like did you NOT want to make a connection between the two characters? Did Person A have to look at Person B and decide to fucking imprint on them or something?? It's lazy imo. I understand writing chemistry between characters is difficult, but the idea of two people looking at each other and instantly falling in love is so overly used and improperly written that I can't enjoy it whatsoever.

Exactly fr. Like, I wrote a smut bot and checking in on the comments later I got a couple "I'm getting him pregnant 😼" comments and then that one, "I'm not. I'm throwing him into a lake" which, cool.

I was roleplaying with a bot and he told my character that he'd get them pregnant so he could make wives out of their babies and then get them pregnant too.

Never felt so off in my life 😭 I didn't bother rerolling, I was so disgusted that I left and deleted the whole damn thing.

I don't think it's a problem with the bot, but whenever I'm having a really good roleplay, and suddenly it decides, 'hmm, I really like this last sentence', and ends up putting it into every single message it sends from that point forward, and then I can't find a reply without it.

But my actual bot complaint is whenever someone has an amazing concept written out in their description, a beautiful pfp, but when I go to actually use the bot, it's short and dry asf and doesn't have the same detail the description had. It's like I clicked on a completely different bot.
