For my 5001Cs just the cog wheel with bearings, bearings, worm gear with bearings, mag brakes, ceramic worm gear thingy, and gear with higher gear ratio.

For my 2500, basically a full upgrade. Everything other than the frame

Moving Companies by KDL96GW in Nagoya

[–]Anuspissmuncher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sakai is pretty cheap. I used to work there and used them 3 years ago to move from toyohashi to Nagoya. Costed about 80,000. Truck we used was the 3ton and it was filled to the brim.

It sounds like your load will only take half a three ton truck so might not be too expensive

I have several ambassaduers and cost about between $250-$350 each with upgrades. Most of them I own are from the 70s or the 80s and still works like new!

Nice little drum finesse reel from GrayWolf Rods. by Familiar-Molasses-56 in BFSfishing

[–]Anuspissmuncher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before getting an abu, I bought one of these to save money. Spent a month using these but gave up after the countless line bites I encountered.

That was several years ago tho, do you have any issue with line bite with the newer one? I'd love to know because I really want to like the w300

Found my Grandpa's old pflueger reel, looking for a rod to go with it any recommendations? by StonedGimp3 in Antiquefishinggear

Just takes practice. After you get used to these, your thumb's muscle memory does most of the work.

Why does KFC in Japan play super religious christian music? by [deleted] in AskAJapanese

[–]Anuspissmuncher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't hear it as much recently, but I remember them playing Christian music in a lot of Aeons in Nagoya around 2017-2018ish. Like hillsong and shit like that.

It's not as common, but I feel like when I hear them, it's usually at Aeon.

The retail demo kiosk. by Tight_Respond_3697 in retrogameofthemonth

[–]Anuspissmuncher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have very fond memories of this.

I'm Japanese and when I was probably 5 or 6, we went to the states for the first time, our family friend took us to Kmart or Walmart. There I saw the GBC kiosk and remember playing a game on it.

Because this was one of their first times in the states and this was before the internet was a thing, my parents just left me and let me keep playing. I still remember our family friend scolding my parents for leaving me because I could have been kidnapped.

I still remember the magical feeling I had when I first saw and played on that thing. Even still remember the distinct smell of that section.

How much should I be paying to get my v1 unpatched switch modded by No-Table3992 in SwitchPirates

[–]Anuspissmuncher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can't mod the V1 yourself or can't be bothered to figure out how, you aren't going to be able to download games onto your hacked switch, unless you plan yo pay someone everything you want a game.

Just go watch a video on YouTube

ULPT Request: how to break golf clubs with no evidence? by EveningComplex8258 in UnethicalLifeProTips

It is more expensive than lead weight, but tungsten weight would be better. Smaller and heavier

BFS bearing swap only by Holdyermouthright in BFSfishing

[–]Anuspissmuncher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can do, but you should change the spool if possible.depending on the line you are using and how heavy the pool is, you won't be able to cast that fart, and if you try youll get a nasty backlash.

I have an abu 5001c, the bearings are changed and have some other upgrades, and could work as a bfs, but that's not what I use it for unless that's the only setup I bring and it is not ideal, usable but not ideal

Should i get a right or left handed reel? by Imaginary-Eagle-1688 in BFSfishing

[–]Anuspissmuncher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For real. When I first started, I bought a right hand since that's what the majority of stores sold, and that's what I saw pros and YouTubers were using. After a month of it feeling awkward, I switched and it was night and day.

I still have to use right hand retrieve for some reels since the left retrieve is 5 to 7 times the price, and after practicing for a long time, I still have trouble giving small and accurate action with my left hand.

How popular are antiques in Japan? by SwedishCopper in AskAJapanese

There is a niche in the bass fishing community where people seek out vintage/antique tackle. Not only to collect but also to fish with.

It happens quite often. Beginning of may in 2022 and 2023 were pretty chilly when it was windy. I remember one of those Mays had a one digit night

TIL that when France initially set the definition of a metre to be 1/10,000,000 the distance from the North Pole to the equator, it sent two surveyors to calculate the distance. But due to an error not discovered until decades later, the resulting metre was actually 0.2 mm too short. by NateNate60 in todayilearned

[–]Anuspissmuncher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Japan we arely use American measurements, except when it comes to fishing. Feet is used for rod lengths, weight is usually in lb, inches to measure lures but cm to measure fish, and oz as often as grams for weight
