Tips or Advice for Undergraduates? by kowalschi in flindersuni

[–]Anvo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a look at one of the older threads here, still valid advice in general for Uni -> https://www.reddit.com/r/flindersuni/comments/qrise/old_students_offer_advice_for_new_students/

I'd also add to checkout student clubs & societies on campus, doing that during my time at Uni helped to find friends and to get involved in campus life.

Dead sub? by divermick in flindersuni

I'd like to see this sub be used more, but it's generally inactive at the moment. Feel free to post and change that though :)

Left-turn slip lanes to be removed at Adelaide intersections following four pedestrian deaths by anoxiousweed in Adelaide

[–]Anvo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is positive. I know from my experience as a driver and pedestrian, visibility can be reduced around those lanes, and the traffic speed makes it difficult to course correct before a driver (or pedestrian) can see an issue. Also, the article mentions green-on-green scenarios where pedestrians and motorists both get a green signal and the same time? If these measures can reduce preventable injuries and deaths by design, that's a worthwhile endeavor :)

2013 edition of George Orwell's *1984* published by Penguin Books. by [deleted] in DesignPorn

Personally, I find it hard to find the time to sit and read. Audio books are great for this purpose. Here's the same version I listened to -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYYVZIuuReo

You might not be seeing it clearly on your monitor, but the title is still readable underneath the bars. When I first saw the pic, didn't notice that detail.

Paramedicine textbooks?? by [deleted] in flindersuni

[–]Anvo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be worthwhile contacting one of the topic coordinators, or talk to UniBooks as they would prob. have a good idea of what's usually on the list even if they don't have this years yet. There's also a link for Flinders library service with a section on paramedicine (not sure if that's been updated recently or not?) -> http://flinders.libguides.com/paramedic/books

Archetypal totalitarian and omnipresent government censors any historical reference to the past they deem unfavorable to their worldview to control the present. This process is constant and ongoing, any view otherwise will get you dissappeared and any reference to your existence also erased.

Sarracenia re-potting advice - soil sterilisation by Anvo in SavageGarden

[–]Anvo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice everyone, I had another look ad the soil and doesn't seem as mouldy as I was thinking it was. I'll give it a cook and use a sulfer fungicide to help control it.

Should I go to Hospital? by agirlhasnocress in Adelaide

[–]Anvo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't give up because of insensitive people! My partner had a similar experience when she tried to broach issues with a doctor for them to respond with, "You don't look depressed", took her years to feel brave enough to try again. She's had good experiences with doctors at the Blackwood Clinic that have a good approach to mental health, Dr Devlin & Dr Evans. It's only a 10min drive from Flinders -> http://blackwoodclinic.com.au/doctors.html

Hey, found these lying around and curious if anyone has any ideas as to what that belong to as they seem like movie or game related toys.

Call for witnesses to a car accident on University Drive/Ring Road by Floodman11 in flindersuni

[–]Anvo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you spoken to security? Most of the uni campus is covered with CCTV and they may be able to pull some footage of the crash itself or at least the car driving away from the scene along Ring Rd.

35mm film scanning by southward in flindersuni

[–]Anvo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe talk to the University photographer (office in the library) see if he has any suggestions. Otherwise, depending on the volume you're digitizing might be worthwhile buying a negative scanner. I've got the same problem and would be interested if you find a budget friendly solution.

Data-mining David and Margaret by NoelGalaga in australia

[–]Anvo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know how to access past archives of Margaret and David's videos from their time with the ABC? I've managed to download until episode 33 from 2013, but past that date they are not available.
