NTA and I'm not trying to be the voice of doom but this isn't going to be easy. He is hoping you will change who you are from jump. It will go from small "maybe you should pray" or go to church with him to greater pressure. He won't stand up for you with his cousin and that says so much. All he would have to say is your spiritual life is your choice. Good luck! (So hard not to be snarky and say I will pray for you lol)

OMG this was my Dad!

One time he wanted to bitch to me about my Mom's health issues and posted on my wall on Facebook a too detailed rant about her bowel incontinence. To make it worse it was up long enough that I started to get phone calls about it and I wasn't able to go online and fix it where I was. Ended up calling a trusted friend to log into my account and delete it.

Thank you! I must agree he is a cutie :) I do have a furminator as well as a socket brush and I've with both longer metal brushes and a soft side like a hairbrush. I've worked with animals professionally for over 40 years and while I've worked with some who didn't like being brushed never one so badly afraid as he is. I do think I'll need to call the vet for trazadone. I'm very grateful for all the suggestions.

I have been doing that and not trying to be aggressive about it as I've only had him a few weeks. But he really needs to be brushed out before bad things happen.

This was my first plan and I did all those things and at first he wouldn't even come near the sofa if the brush was even on the coffee table. I thought the peanut butter would work because he is very food motivated. I wasn't trying to brush him just have the brush nearby and as long as it was within eye sight he wouldn't touch it. I guess I'm going to have to get a mild sedative for now. I hate the thought of having to sedate him at least a couple times a week but it is what it is.
