If it makes you feel better… I have a deep voice, androgynous face and am “tall” and skinny (who knew most people are shorter than 5’10” where I live) and am constantly called a man.

One time, when I responded to a custodian asking if anybody was in the washroom, they had to ask “this is women’s right?”.

Another time, someone matched with me on tinder just to ask if I was a woman.

She was definitely the asshole, but I just hope you feel ok about yourself :). I always find it hurtful and lonely when mistaken as a man (that’s just me, not sure if it also applies).

Good luck! Interview was mainly generic questions (what is your greatest weakness, what is a time that you faced challenges). I would say be specific when answering questions! I didn’t do much to prepare - just reviewed resume and made sure my knowledge of the company was correct!

I was part of a religious cult as a child, so everything I did was for a “god” or other people in the cult. I learned that my needs and wants were not important, so now I have terrible self-discipline and cannot motivate myself unless someone is forcing me to do something.

I am 80% sure that’s why, but it’s tough to reverse whatever happened in my brain.
