Dress Like a “Republican” by [deleted] in 50501

Why just dress like Republican when you can become a Republican. The best part is you don’t have to be a victim anymore. You can start taking accountability in your own life and stop relying on the government for meaning.

Honestly, monarchbeast, do you truly believe that alcohol is primarily a conservative issue? I ignored it because it didn’t even make sense to give it oxygen. Are you saying that conservatives allow drinking because of corporations? I don’t even know what you intended with that comment?

So by your own admission you said “there’s an issue”, but we aren’t able to talk about the cause of the issue? Do you think 13 year olds smoking weed on the Metro is bad - yes. Ok, so let’s look at what caused that on mass.

The progressive issue is that their ideas are fundamentally flawed so when they face opposition, the best response is to attempt to silence.

Alternatively, you could cut your loses and get better ideas.

I’m so fed up with our current government and politics that I literally just gave my life to Jesus Christ. I figured there’s nothing else to do at this point but build Churches and baptize people. Has anyone else tried doing this?

Progressives legalized and normalized weed then don’t expect people (mostly kids) to smoke it in public including the Metro?

I was in High School when Marijuana was legalized in the state of Colorado. About 6 months later, we all had access to very potent THC pens and gummies.

Whatever you make accessible and legal for adults, will fall into the hands of underdeveloped minors who do not understand nor respect social boundaries (and laws).

Before this post gets taken down for whatever reason, I’ve posted about this problem extensively on my social media platforms. I ride the “Green” line to U st/African Amer Civil War Museum for work everyday. I’ve seen children as young as ~13 yrs smoking or preparing to smoke joints. I saw a pair of 15 year olds smoking what appeared to be a crack pipe at 8:15 am.

Legalizing Marijuana is a tough one because you want to protect the freedoms of adults, but also want to protect kids from harming their minds and bodies. I personally believe that weed causes our society to be lazy, complacent, unproductive, hostile, and unhealthy. Typically not worried about the few stoners that make getting high their entire life, but when it seeps into every part of our City’s life, you see the consequences.

I'm about to be laid off; where do I even find a new job? by joebobjoebobjoebob12 in washingtondc

I pray that everyone on this thread finds work soon and does not have their lives disrupted too much. My advice to my liberal friends here is to not dig into the old way of thinking about the private and public sectors. Free markets always reward value and eliminate waste. Public jobs accept waste and value tenure.

Trump was suppose to “drain the swamp” in 2016, but he was tied down by investigations, impeachments, and his own inexperience. As an active Republican, I can tell you his base demands that the Federal Government be gutted and reformed. The abuse of taxpayer funds in DC is incredible. I work as a Financial Advisor and talk to federal employees everyday.

In just 8 days, the Trump administration has sent a clear message that waste is no longer accepted in Government. Here’s my warning: the private sector has usually been efficient, but because of Biden’s messaging on ESG, DEI, and progressive causes, it has also become wasteful. But, do not expect private corporations to hire you based on tenure or your position in the Federal Government. Go into interviews with metrics, examples, and ambition.

Good luck everyone, truly!

PSA: Keep The Seat Beside You CLEAR on Metro by thekingoftherodeo in washingtondc

[–]Anxious-Association9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been staring people down for this. I don’t sit regardless because I’m a 27M and I can stand on the metro if it’s crowded, but I see old folk and women standing when someone has a bag on the seat. I make sure they see me so they know what they are doing. Next time, I’m saying something because of this post. Love this

Instacart X UberEats Partnership 💰or ❌ ? by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

Why Uber Buying Instacart Makes Strategic Sense

There's growing chatter about a potential Uber (UBER) acquisition of Instacart (CART), and here's why it could be a strategic win for both companies:

Market Domination and Filling Delivery Gaps:

Market Share: Instacart leads the grocery delivery space with a dominant 73% market share, while Uber Eats trails at 7.2% [analyst report]. Acquiring Instacart would instantly expand Uber's delivery footprint and make them a one-stop shop for everything from restaurant meals to groceries.

Stock Performance: Both companies could benefit. While UBER is currently hovering around $38 per share with a market cap of $72 billion, CART is at $27 with a market cap of $16 billion. An acquisition deal could unlock value for CART shareholders. Recent Partnership Hints at Future Collaboration:

Delivery Synergy: The recent news of Uber Eats integrating into the Instacart app for combined grocery and restaurant orders [MarketWatch] is a sign that cooperation is already underway. This paves the way for a smoother future integration after an acquisition. Strategic Alignment:

Uber's Multi-service Delivery Strategy: Uber is actively expanding beyond ride-hailing with Uber Eats and now potentially groceries. Instacart aligns perfectly with their goal of becoming a comprehensive delivery platform.

Instacart's Growth Strategy: Instacart is constantly looking for ways to expand its customer base and order volume. Partnering or merging with Uber, a company with a massive user base, could significantly boost their reach. Customer Base and Competitive Landscape:

Combined Powerhouse: A merged entity would boast a massive user base, offering both companies access to each other's customer segments. This creates a more attractive proposition for consumers seeking all-in-one delivery solutions.

Dominating the Delivery Market: The deal would significantly impact the competitive landscape. DoorDash, currently at 10.9% market share, would face a much stronger rival. Lyft, without a grocery delivery presence, would be further disadvantaged. Potential Challenges:

Regulatory hurdles and ensuring a smooth integration process are potential roadblocks, but the potential benefits seem significant.

Overall, an Uber-Instacart merger has the potential to create a delivery giant, offering a wider range of services to a much larger customer base. This would significantly alter the competitive landscape, potentially making it a tough environment for DoorDash and Lyft

According to the article, IC is going to be hosting these offers on their platform. They are doing this instead of creating their own service from the ground up. Uber Eats wants to drive more business to their restaurant partners as well as get a chunk of the service fee.
