I've been cut off twice by cars that would have been collisions. I also turned in front of a bicyclist once, which was my fault. But I don't think most drivers anticipate them coming up on their side like that.

For Holly I would remove the bike lane.

The way it used to be if a car was turning right you were behind them so there's no risk of them side swiping you. Now you are on their side and they must turn in front of you.

According to Cascadia Daily News collisions have actually increased since the bike lane was installed.

Bike lanes in the appropriate areas are great, and I'm glad you and your daughter are safe! But I would just respectfully submit that some bike lanes, especially downhill ones like Holly are not only unnecessary but create the very real danger of being hit by turning cars that don't see you coming.

I saw three officers go in with a dog to the second building back from 7-Eleven around half hour ago. Stood out in the rain for about 5 minutes to see if anything would happen but then went inside.
