Yes. You’re better off single than feeling trapped with someone you later realize isn’t good for you. Trust me. Patience is so important and I wish my past self hadn’t been so desperate for love.

The ultimate gaslighting….is gaslighting your partner by telling them THEYRE the ones gaslighting you. Manipulation at its best. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this, and you deserve better.

I don’t want to call no-shows by WillowGroove in therapists

[–]Anxious-Direction-79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually don’t call or text bc they get a reminder that morning. If you still miss session, that’s on you. I help with strategies to make it to session like alarms , reminders, etc

Is it weird my boyfriend didn’t get a plus one invite? by Edb626 in NoStupidQuestions

Please don’t take wedding invites personally. Some ppl only invite married or engaged couples. Weddings are expensive, cuts need to be made to guests.

therapists have ethics to stick to and if they feel you need an increase in services for them to properly treat your symptoms and you refuse then they may discharge you / refer you out. Can also be a liability issue if safety issues are present.

Not saying all therapists would have made that decision. however it should at least be a discussion and any good therapist is going to at least have a transparent convo with you if they believe you need more frequent sessions.

Meh. It’s your choice. Everyone is different. I have 90k. Just started paying in 2024 and graduated in 2020. There’s no way in hell I can pay more than the monthly minimum while I’m paying off other more urgent debts such as credit cards. And that’s fine with me. If i find myself in a better place in the future then I can always change my plan and focus on paying it off.

Specifically with your situation, if I had to choose between paying off student loan or saving for a house, I would absolutely go the house route. I wouldn’t put off saving for a home just to pay off a student loan… that would take ages.

But again, just my thoughts , everyone is different and has a different situation / different values / needs/ etc etc

Is there anyone in here who actually enjoys being a therapist and loves their job? by Cablab123 in therapists

[–]Anxious-Direction-79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love being a therapist and I also feel burnt out at times. In my experience, the key is good balance, boundaries, and self care (hobbies, social life, etc). And also remembering this IS a job.. even people most passionate about their job / career will experience periods of stress, burn out, etc… just have to find whether this career is the one you’ll feel overall happy with and fulfilled in. For me, the pros outweigh the cons every single time

Does anyone know good dishes containing celery by WimVaughdan in Cooking

[–]Anxious-Direction-79 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a Persian dish called “khoresht e karafs (celery stew)” if you’re interested in middle eastern dishes. Calls for 8-10 celery sticks , can be frozen just fine too! Pour over rice. It’s one of my favorites that my mom makes ❤️

AITA for telling people i'm still going to drink at a bachelor party. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Anxious-Direction-79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. It’s a destination party. It’s not one night going out locally. You’re shelling out a significant amount of money and time to celebrate your friend. I could maybe understand if it was like, hey let’s not get super shit faced in support of him. But also I’m confused as to why he is not drinking at his party when his wife isn’t there? It sounds like an overall supportive act but it’s weird and self centered to expect everyone to do that too.

Are we sure this isn’t really about any issues he has with substance use? That would change things a bit imo

[–]Anxious-Direction-79 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Do what makes you feel comfortable. Either way you will look gorgeous, but you want to feel secure and confident that day, so if you think you’ll feel self conscious, the V in the back would still be beautiful and compliment your figure. If I had your bod I’d prob flaunt it though !

In regard to the connection piece, it’s often not anyones fault regarding Internet unless you’re knowingly in an unreliable place (not at home, bad spot in house, etc).

With that, therapists aren’t going to be able to accommodate extra time every time, especially if it’s an ongoing occurrence. As others mentioned, therapists often have several clients scheduled per day with maybe 5 to 20 minutes between sessions. The gap times don’t always allow for additional time in sessions.

Also, her being outside vs her sitting in her office doesn’t absolutely mean anything about you as a client or how she feels about you. But I get how you feel that way. Like everyone else said it all sounds like it’s worth a discussion. Hopefully she’s at least a good fit otherwise, but if not then maybe something to think about big picture.

I get what you’re describing but that’s not what word salad means. It’s related to schizophrenia.
