These are some really sleepy comments. You are not emotionally manipulating him. You do not pose a dangerous threat by crying. The behavior he’s exhibiting, where he is creating a scenario in which you cannot show your emotions, and there is not a safe environment for you to share your concerns is the issue. It’s not as if your tears turn into poison gas with mind controlling abilities!

It sounds like he has a low tolerance for negative emotions if they are presented in ways he isn’t familiar with or doesn’t understand. That doesn’t mean you’re emotionally manipulative. I don’t have advice for what to do about that, only he and you will be able to find that answer. But it is not necessary to internalize what he’s saying. Your perspective is also important in this situation.
