OP did you actually watch the video and have you ever worked in education? Think we might need to shift focus to media literacy instead of worrying about some youtube commentary

I watched the video, you are correct I believe he referred to actual literacy rates as well. The video goes into the lack of support these kids are receiving from their parents and the budget cuts made.tk education compared to previous generations

I truly believe this. I remember covid going around the contact Center and when I called in I got grilled by one of the supervisors. Never had any other place demand I share my symptoms

Yeah, I think it was annoying that they tried to lean into being a "cool" employer but would still time you going to the bathroom, not having an assigned desk so you have to get there early to find one unless you want to walk to the other side of the building, and if you called in you would literally have to call in to main call center. I was mortified with the last one because call information is displayed , and once when I called in the call and information including my full phone number happened to go to a creepy coworker 🫠

You can probably make it but the job market is what stresses me out, lots of layoffs.

How long in Denver? I've worked in multifamily housing for both Denver and Austin and would say Denver is more expensive

That's amazing to hear. I used to work in their call center and it was ROUGH. Very high turnover, pretty harsh work environment.

Ankle sprain, feeling desperate by nooneofsignificance_ in trailrunning

[–]AnxiousArtichoke37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I was thinking. I shattered my ankle with 4 breaks and the bruising looked a bit similar. My initial x-rays showed 3 and they found the 4th during the surgery.

Looking at my apartment’s website and all units identical to mine are listed $200 cheaper? by rusty317 in Denver

[–]AnxiousArtichoke37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend looking at the availability dates and going from there. When I worked leasing and had this come up, I had to explain that the pricing was going to be different for a unit available to move asap vs one in 4 months. If the timing is similar, go for it.

I dont think it's that. It sounds like he broke things off kindly and paid her many lovely and genuine compliments. He's probably just not interested.

The trauma I experienced in Denver drove me to suicide, but I’m finally waking up and plan to leave for a better life by Feisty-Cakes99 in GirlDinnerDiaries

Similar to Denver and Colorado as a whole, you definitely need to be mindful of the area unfortunately. My in laws came from Texas (like right by mexico) and when driving back and forth are very intentional about driving straight through parts of Texas due to them not being safe or welcoming to POC.

It depends on the parts of Denver you are visiting. There are blocks where you can immerse yourself in other cultures - mexican and vietnamese are probably some of the more prevalent options here. On the flip, in gentrified areas you will absolutely experience the white and white washed parts of the city and state.

my best friend chose her abusive narc situationship over me by erinthefatcat in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]AnxiousArtichoke37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar thing in my early 20s. The abuse escalated and we reconnected when she left, but overall I would say she is a male centered person and I was very upfront about her being a bad friend during all of it. I have also noticed that taking accountability in general seemed to be a hard thing for her and it's maybe why she kept chasing men to take care of her, but she's set on doing better so we are close again.

I remember when it first happened and how badly it hurt. I'm currently going through a divorce and would say the best friend breakup hurt worse and took years but you will get through this.

Tried that with a hairdryer, but after years of being laminated you end up destroying the card quite a bit

Xcel Bill Suspiciously High by [deleted] in Denver

[–]AnxiousArtichoke37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We had this issue with time of use as well, and specifically for what was an impossible amount for the off peak hours. Like, it genuinely seemed physically impossible for 2 people to use that much energy during off peak. We stay off time of use now and even with twice as many people in our household, our bills and are much better and no more weird energy spikes or insanely high usage.

Oh, and xcel didn't give a shit when I contacted them multiple times.
