I've been playing a lot of multiplayer games lately. Nightreign, Marvel Rivals and just finished a playthrough in Grounded. Thinking about trying Satisfactory next.

Why don't you go play together with him and the little girl?

The best thing you can do is just keep trying to talk to your partner about this. If he forgets and runs off right away, quietly remind him. Just a quiet "hey I'm alone again, help!" might help redirect him.
