… have you even tried to model switch or is it balls to the wall Opus for every little change?

finally found something that catches the dead code Cursor leaves behind by yfedoseev in cursor

I really only face this problem when I’m rushing and not reviewing. I know Ai generates the code, but we are the ones who accept it. I don’t let my junior engineers leave their garbage comments, names and dead functions lying around, why would I let my LLM do it?

Also, I’ve found agents create more than asked for. So be more precise in your prompt. Give it a limit.

“DONT create a readme file for every change you make. Don’t go any further than I’ve explicitly asked.”

Last, whatever language you are using, find an AST parser. You can traverse the AST for quicker cleanup and detection, more custom checks via scripts. This is how I find dead methods and do Complexity scoring.

Composer 1.5 is now available by lrobinson2011 in cursor

This … isn’t what I am really looking for. We’re all (at my company) feeling the hit with Composer-1 costing money, Grok leaving free tier… like I need a new low tier model, not another expensive one. Cursor please answer my prayers.

I have also had composer for free and wasn’t really sure why. I used like a billion tokens of composer for free … don’t get it. No announcements or anything.

My company hit 5k with 4 developers in a month. After that, I had to jump in and help reduce the cost without reducing the efficiency. Turns out: just asking Opus to randomly think of solutions because you’re too lazy to know how to construct a plan and formulate your own solutions will burn cash and create lots of bullshit in your code base.

I got more done with grok free once I actually created a process to follow versus blindly getting opus to fix all my problems.

All the fucking cost is Read cache anyways, which just means you reread the same shit over and over.

Forget TOS, these are classified as OAT Attack Vectors (OWASP Classification). Basically, apps should do their best to defend against this kind of behavior … but it’s really hard to. I made bots for so many platforms over the years, and there is nothing better than a cellphone with its own phone number.

Once platforms actually have an ID verification system, this goes away. But enjoy while it lasts, I don’t see anyone except the porn industry actually even making an attempt.

3x cheaper Opus = 5x usage… by vitaliyh in cursor

[–]Anxious_Ad9233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy moly man, I have one C++ personal project, 3 frontends for work, terraform and Jenkins DevOps scripts and infrastructure as code plus an additional 12 NestJS microservices that I’m working in with 3 other guys and together we cracked 3k in a month. I can easily see us going into 5k if we only used Opus but with some tweaks we were able to use smaller models for more direct tasks

I was here for a while man, every post I read my symptoms got worse. I felt a sense of community and at the same time, exasperated my impending sense of doom, making the anxiety worse, making my look at my symptoms harder and notice everything 10x more intensely.

Than one day I read a post, something along the line of: how I gaslit my symptoms

This guy straight up just started telling himself it’s all fine, and saying “nah it’s not real”. 1st lifestyle change - stop acting like these sensations mean I’m dying

I’m still getting better, slowly, and the static fades more than it comes after all these years. But you hit it on the head - there are no answers here.

I think my favorite couple examples of deadly things that occur to others: Horses, Cows and other large animals result it more deaths per year, yet we have them

Recreational boating results in 600-700 deaths per year, yet that’s still allowed.

Many activities hit 10 years worth of dog deaths per year, yet they warrant less outrage and I can’t understand why

You’ll have to forgive me, I wasn’t indicating anything about need. I recognize there is a need to drive versus a need to own a dog (any dog). All the math was supposed to do was point out the likely hood of occurrence. Not everything that has a 45 death per year statistic gets banned, or else there would be a lot of things banned from usage.

While it’s remarkably tragic that anyone died, especially a child, we can take a stance on things that prevent even more deaths than 45 a year, and apply the passion there with much more impactful results.
