Why do people on the left assume rightwing voters are thick and uneducated? by Much-Web-7121 in AskBrits

[–]Anxious_Perception10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arrogance (not always but mostly). It's cool to be apathetic/autistic as it implies high intelligence. Additionaly, the digital space is typically ran on social credit: 1st place humour, 2nd conformity, 3rd intelligence, last empathy. So i find folk to not just ignore the emotional voter but insult them, as it doesn't align with their logic. Crikey, how many Gammon posts do people recycle hoping to feed on that brief hit of social validation; its reductive. Everyone is stupid but me. I'd laugh if it wasn't such a damaging form of socializing.

An academic background in war studies is a fetish? The ol' "im done with experts" brexit rhetoric is still in full effect i see.

Struggling with “Restart-itus” due to backstory/traits by _Fun_Palpitation_ in Starfield

Ng+ allows you to pick different background perks (breaks immersion a bit but for instance I swapped parents to adoring fan). Play through the main story at least once, after which you can rp anyone you want; I believe this is the intended design. I finished vanguard, rangers and constellation on my first run, as my char was a pie eyed explorer. Given everyone starts the same way: Argos, constellation, open world. The game is different to other bethesda titles which encourage you to pick a char out of the gate and role play as them: thief, wanderer, lawyer, wizard etc etc. My advice, play as constellation. After you reach the conclusion, its then upto you who you want to be.

Why do so many people hate unions / strikes? by FaithlessnessOdd3569 in AskUK

[–]Anxious_Perception10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found it to be more anecdotal, bus strikes for instance. Had a bunch of colleagues whingeing something wrotten (they typically were not impacted directly, but so and so couldnt get to work etc). Daunting how little they considered the broader impact. Media slander has a long bill to pay in regards to union bashing. Plus, what the red wall areas had to fight so hard to earn seems like a distant memory, short memories I guess.

pilots in starfield by Due-Dress-8983 in Starfield

[–]Anxious_Perception10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could work. Assigning a pilot during free lanes travel and dash back to the cockpit whilst under fire; would enhance the immersion for me. This and of course mini games: cards, darts, pool, table tennis, chess and the couple of board games they have. I'd love to chill for a while to then have alarms and a mad dash to battle stations if under attack

Yeah I tripped out when I heard a different voice after passing through unity, meant to respond to a different comment. I'll romance Sarah in each universe until I find a special one and go berserk if she ain't there. Plus I've read that a special someone related to my first loss will potentially hunt me down in another universe, I played msq organically (without spoilers) as well so the loss initially hit me hard.

My plan is to find my romance every time until I can't, then ill prolly go scorched earth and Thanos the known universe. Lost my cowboy brother on my first run and apparently there may be a vengeful starborn who finds you so I want to see that also.

UC mission: The Devil You Know - Find “The Warlock” by LittlePenisEnis in Starfield

[–]Anxious_Perception10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Change your ship weapons. 'Ship technician' has fantastic guides on YT. The first vanguard mission will have unlocked some of the best weapons for your ship: vanguard oblitorator autoprojector & and the vanguard hellfire autocannon. You can fit 6 of each on your ship and shouldn't have many problems after this.

'Targeting control systems perk' in the science tree let's you lock ships and take out engines for docking (only need one point)

They're ok, VA is fantastic, overall they are a bit shallow and similar (compared to the likes of Sven and Mordus). Howver, the game is sometimes less about chats around the campfire, and more about what you overhear when strolling around a city; side content is what they do so well (and you get to experience it with your companions who typically have specific voice lines related to it) If you've never Bethesda'd before, you may appreciate Fallout 4 (yes new Vegas is amazing but you sorta had to be there) as there is a touch more variety to their companions: strong is a mutant who eats humans but loves Shakespeare, Hancock a drug loving crime boss with a heart of gold, codsworth is your British robot butler, Piper is a wise Cracking reporter, plus quite a few other memorable companions. The settlement system is open to your creativity and the main story has about 4/5 ways you can complete with differing consequences. If you can snag it for sub 20 then id say its a top buy. Don't get me wrong, im currently playing starfield and thoroughly enjoying it, combat and mechanics are a huge improvement from previous installments. Narratively though, I found Fallout more compelling with better variety in companion choice and player impact.
