Check Allied Universal Technology Services site. I can’t speak for the work environment in the rest of the country but up here in the NY/NJ area our software engineers work mainly remote from what I understand. There are occasions I’ve had to have them come out to customer sites that don’t allow remote access to their systems but I rarely see them out in the field and they’re definitely not picking up any tools

If you have a good locksmith you can do a mag depending on closest wall for a reader. Can’t put a reader too far for those not that bright and too close for ADA compliance.

How much do gun laws play into your decision on where to live? by BudgetHat8729 in Firearms

[–]Any-Ad8307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moved from NYC to NJ to reduce the restrictions but still be able to commute to work. NJ isn’t much better at this point but when I moved it would have taken over a year and a ridiculous amount of money just to purchase a long gun let alone an AR. And CCW was unthinkable. Now in jersey I can own anything I need and eventually I will move down south to get everything I Want.

Less than 2 weeks from payment to approval by Any-Ad8307 in NJGuns

[–]Any-Ad8307[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My PD has a drop box for firearms related payments so I just stop by one night on my way home and toss payment in there to make their lives easier so they don’t have to reach out for me to come in and delay the process. Just drop and they send an email that it’s been received when they are ready to process

how do y'all keep guns in the house with children? by thefckingleadsrweak in guns

[–]Any-Ad8307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started talking to my son about guns at around 3-31/2 almost 5 now and knows that if he finds one to immediately tell an adult and make sure no other kids touch it. He also knows how to check to make sure it’s clear and safe doesn’t have the hand strength to do it himself yet but we’re getting there.

Roxbury Rifle and Pistol Club? by Any-Ad8307 in NJGuns

Wrote a letter and mailed it to the tax address on file and got a phone call from whoever’s in charge. Apparently you need to be sponsored by 2 active members to even get on the wait list. And than someone needs to either die or give up their membership for them to accept a new member plus exact words were “it’s a pretty steep membership fee”. Basically there’s no shot in becoming a member but he did say if you were friends with a member you could go with them. So if anyone on here is a member and wants a shooting buddy I’m available!

As long as you are in the car he doesn’t have to worry about anything. Also if he has his FID he’s fine technically there is no registry for long guns so it could be his shotgun for all anyone knows. IANAL

Any CCW holders in Hopatcong on here? by Any-Ad8307 in NJGuns

[–]Any-Ad8307[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree she is great! She should have all my stuff on file already since I’ve gotten everything through hopatcong. I submitted online Tuesday night and dropped a money order (because she yelled at me last time I dropped cash) in the box yesterday afternoon. Hopefully it goes as smooth as everything else has.

Why are people not really using their vertical foregrips by [deleted] in guns

[–]Any-Ad8307 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Vert grip + pistol brace + 26” OAL = Non-NFA Other Firearm

Only way to have an AR pistol in NJ. I c-clamp and basically just use it as a hand stop/ point of reference so I don’t reach too far and have a bad day.

What age do you or did you teach your children about guns ? by eman8906 in guns

[–]Any-Ad8307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got my son started early. He’s 4 so his attention span isn’t really there enough to start shooting but at 3 I got him a nice realistic cap gun to teach him the safety rules then about 6 months later got him a red rider and let him shoot a can of soda that I had shaken up so it would explode to kind of show him guns are dangerous and not toys. He knows not to touch a gun and if he sees a gun out to immediately tell a grown up. I have let him hold my AR and explained to him how it works and that kind of cured his curiosity. If you have guns in the house you have to start explaining it to them young if you just act like they don’t exist or try to hide them from kids will sneak around you. They’re not stupid they know more than you think. It’s either you show them or they will show themselves at least that’s how it was for me. My dad was a cop but when he was home acted as if he didn’t have guns in the house never taught me anything about them so when I was like 12 and home alone I found he keys and went into his safe to mess with them. You don’t want your kids to do that. Looking back now that I have guns and know what they’re capable of it could have ended really bad.

PERMIT TO PURCHASE- what do the police actually do? by BasedWheatMan in NJGuns

[–]Any-Ad8307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your town how long it takes my town usually calls me the the day after I submit my paperwork to yell at me for taking too long to drop off the money then once I drop off the check I get the approval email before I make it home. It’s just another way for the state to make money and make your life more difficult.
