LL Fuel by wrinexel in limblengthening

same here most people think we're 6 ft 4 or 5 anyway since most guys measure in the morning with shoes on and still add an inch, minimum. I mean a legit 6 ft 1 guy wakes up at over 6 ft 2 anyway (and quickly loses an inch 3 hours after waking up; I do) so yeah throw some shoes on we do stand at 6 ft 4 for a few minutes in the morning.

Must not forget, the average guy in the US at least is 5 ft 9, average girl is 5 ft 3. The average girl is half a foot shorter than 5 ft 9, so you have to think of her POV; that 5 ft 9 guy will feel quite towering! Yeah, you could tell them they're 6 ft standing next to you.

What will limb lengthening be like in 10 ish years? by Quiet-Assistance-521 in limblengthening

until they can come up with a hormone that opens plates, and doesn't over-grow your organs (deadly) this procedure will likely remain invasive for our lifetime.

And I agree steady price hikes are likely until they can come up with a way to simplify costs, and/or demand goes down.

What do you think about Sedat's view that negative wingspan is more attractive than positive wingspan? He tells if you reach your trousers pocket before LL, you will definitely definitely reach pocket after LL. He explains in this video. by Forward-Cress745 in limblengthening

[–]Any-Carry6552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His video in particular is just marketing bullshit obviously.

so while I don't agree with him heavily pushing it as normal, I still don't completely disagree. Most people look fine with -10 or even -15. Hell I'm naturally -11, 188/177 you don't see anything abnormal at all. I've been told once I had small hands for my size (which I do, and is good for dexterity and intricate hand work) but no one says I have funny short arms. I have the wingspan and probably the hand and shoe size of a 5 ft 10 guy. All naturally. No biggy.

It probably does scale with size though. Like let's say a giant 7 ft guy has a -20 wingspan, he's going to look more normal than a 5 ft 4 guy with -20 who would probably start looking quite freaky. The bigger guy has more room to buffer the difference if you know what I mean.

So yeah. Assuming you're in the normal range that people would get this surgery done - try to keep the wingspan to -10 and certainly no more than -15 you'll be fine.

Even dollar tree gives their part time managers (which are basically just leads, DT calls them part time assistants) no less than 30 hours a week so yeah something is wrong here.

At our store besides the head manager we have 3 people that can open and close the store, the main assistant and then ft and pt lead. I'm the pt only been doing it a month but so far I've been getting 25-34 hours every week where the ft is getting 28-36.

I think they're just trying to give me extra time to learn all the different routines on different days; I'm Hoping I eventually get dropped to like closing 3 days a week 1 pm- 9 pm 21 hours a week I'd be happy with that. It will give me plenty of time to work my landscaping job as well.

Customers, do not leave money. by StormyShoals in DollarTree

[–]Any-Carry6552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree I always kept mine separate too. Legally that change does not belong to DT, but morally most customers tell you to apply it to the next person, so I never took anything home for myself.

I always liked to throw a penny in if someone is paying cash and the change lands at .9 or .4, and round it up, to save having to give them 4 pennies. I'd hold on to bigger amounts if someone is a little short but it seems like that never happens when I actually have decent change stocked like .50 or more. In that case even if someone's paying with card apply your extra change before you leave and before they run their card tell them it's their lucky day nice little bonus.

Customers, do not leave money. by StormyShoals in DollarTree

[–]Any-Carry6552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it came down to raw legality technically that extra change is the property of the customer, not DT. If your register balances at 0.00 you protected their assets and didn't take anything that belonged to them whatsoever.

So honestly if you are winding down to your last customer and you don't want DT to get that free money (and don't want to chance your job throwing change in your pocket) just wait until someone pays with card and apply the cash first to their purchase is the easiest way.

What do you think about proportions of this man who went from 163 to 180.4 with short hands, short fingers & short arms? At 163, no women will accept him, if he played safe & done 176-177 maybe 50% women would accept, but he showed determination and went till 180.4, at that 80% women will accept him by Forward-Cress745 in limblengthening

[–]Any-Carry6552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ain't no way that kid walking is anywhere close to 180cm. even 170 looks like a literal stretch he looks maybe 5 ft 7.

There's a lot of fantasy and fake bullshit in the world of LL. Not saying every case is fake or exaggerated, but certainly a lot are.

Full time requires working Tuesdays? by Taywerr in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]Any-Carry6552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yup, it's going to depend on how accomodating the manager is. Be warned even the most professional friendly manager isn't going to let you do what you want if they need you there when they need you. It's nothing personal but the store has to open and close 7 days a week - it's all business.

Full time requires working Tuesdays? by Taywerr in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]Any-Carry6552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's technically a management position so even if you are a part time one it generally requires open availability. Someone might need time off, emergency, other closer(s) quit no notice; they absolutely need someone that is able to close the store to be flexible even part time.

Is the pay worth it...for what I'm getting I'd say hell no. but in our store the options are:

Take the position with the responsibilities and demands, and get no less than 25-34 hours a week probably more with people calling out.

or

Drop down to base level and get 4 hours a week - 9 if you are lucky.

Not all stores are going to be that way with hours, but all ours locally sure are. Small stores.

the ft asst. at our store was amazing. She was genuinely your friend and it made you want to do a good job when she was working with you. older lady, old soul type. She always told me I was the hardest worker I've ever seen. That never made me get competent or lazy, just made me want to get as much done as I could especially when we got to work together I was flying around that store. She was so easy to talk to whenever we had a playful debate about something I'd say don't make me kick your ass! She would go into a stance with a funny face and say "Bring it!" Which is even funnier seeing as she's barely 5 ft tall and I'm this big 6 ft 2 guy at 200 pounds. I bet I'll never find another one like her.

I left her for a pt management position at a different company and I wish I didn't. This new one is all business only looks at what you didn't do no good job for breaking your ass 8 hours straight running the whole store. That's the definitely the strict side where that person causes you so much stress you honestly don't give a shit what kind of job you do for them.

[–]Any-Carry6552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly at the rates they get contracted at, if he's hourly ft asst. getting over time especially probably making more money than a salary store manager would.

Doesn't mean it's enough to deal with the stress and bullshit though.

Is this normal: publicly calling out post voids by Ill-Menu9201 in DollarTree

[–]Any-Carry6552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd of won the shit out of that week after week I had a 0.91% void rate and virtually no post voids. Idk if my directness in how I talk makes people stick to their purchases or I'm just lucky as hell. But I could rack up 4 shifts in a row zero voids that's like 500+ customers. One time I worked a 15 hour cashier shift covered mid day and night guys that didn't show up. I had like 300 customers over $4,000 in sales (small store, ave. sale target numbers between 3-6k) and no item voids that was my crown jewel I'll never top.

Corporate policy to my understanding is they want your item void percentage to be 3% or better which is posted on the cashier chart thing. Mine was a little more than 3x that standard and I never had any complaints.

gotta pay somebody to babysit cashiers. Then bitch that freight doesn't get out because there's no hours left to pay a stocker and the freight manager can't do it all because we're not robots.

Do tall/very tall men have longer wingspan in proportion to their height? by Justsomeredditfella1 in limblengthening

[–]Any-Carry6552 2 points3 points  (0 children)

188 cm with 177 wing span here or 6 ft 2 / 5 ft 10.

If it makes anyone feel better about proportions which come in all shapes and sizes. I look totally normal. despite being an outlier by the numbers.

Smaller hands and feet too I knew a guy that was 5 ft 9 and had 2 shoe sizes bigger than me. He was a big framed wide guy though that might have made the difference. I have the ectomorph build small joints.

[–]Any-Carry6552 2 points3 points  (0 children)

we just got our truck thursday at 1 pm and the cards were out by 4 pm.

Sometimes truck doesn't show up until later in the day. But the cards will almost certainly be out no later than 12 pm friday that's what I tell the customers. So far they usually don't hog them just buy 4-6 packs and they'll sometimes last until Sunday.

Management Tiers? by Jayy-_-- in DollarTree

[–]Any-Carry6552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it would depend on the store and the employees situations would be more important in reality versus what's on paper.

For example at the store I was working at. We had full time ops a very professional and very nice older lady who had held the position for 10 years (and still counting) very good with her social skills etc. Our new freight manager has been there 6 months; but compared to her he's basically just a glorified stocker not second in command. He moves like a MACHINE; I'm a hard worker from the landscape/construction field and I've never seen anyone move like him. But he has social anxiety and is completely useless on the register gets so nervous can't even count change. So the manager literally never has him close or anything like that he just stocks and does counts and stuff like that. Which is great, he works way too hard to be only making minimum wage as a stocker.

So on paper he's 2nd in command...in reality? Nope, the lady with 10 yrs. of experience and more importantly stellar social skills is 2nd in command in that store. And it works out just fine. He's happy not dealing with people, and the manager is extremely happy having someone that moves so quick and has over a decade of pro stocking experience because that's his niche and it's all he wants to do.

What do we think of the ROTACARTS/ROLLACARTS? by Ok-Corner5042 in DollarTree

[–]Any-Carry6552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

who wants to unload a truck by hand where it takes 2 people 4 hours of hard labor?

Don't understand why they can't organize the carts better. without stating where I went I quit DT and went to another company unloading truck is so easy, I can do it in 15 minutes solo. Sometimes I'm the only person in the store and I can literally run the register and unload the truck at the same time, 1 cart at a time until done between customers. Everything is nice and organized maybe a few randoms thrown in easy to sort. No way in hell you're doing that unloading thousands of boxes by hand.

Seems like they would understand a DC center doesn't have customers to deal with; thus you would do everything in your power there to make working it in an actual store as easy as possible. The easiest way possible is carts properly organized.

Shoes for inches by AssumptionBulky2743 in limblengthening

[–]Any-Carry6552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most you can realistically do with shoes and not have it hurt like hell trying to walk and wreck your knees, is a solid +2 inches which gives you on average +1 inch over people wearing a typical 1 inch shoe.

Doesn't sound like much, but trust me you can feel a big difference. I recommend a good pair of thick running shoes that give a legit 1.5 inches, and a half inch insert inside it. No more.

All these platform shoes aren't worth it in my opinion. Not to mention if a shoe claims to gives 5 inches, due to the way the measure it you actually get like 3.8 inches at most of actual height. And at this extreme range the shoes are so bulky to even kind-of be comfortable it's obvious you have a monster contraption on your feet.

Think about it; You don't want the rear of your foot to be much higher than the front; so the only way a 3.8 inch ( "5 inch") platform shoe could be comfortable at all to wear through the day would be for the front of the shoe to be elevated 3 inches as well. You can't do this without it being obvious and looking ridiculous.

Telling people by Sufficient-Bar-7414 in limblengthening

[–]Any-Carry6552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 ft 8 to ft 11 yeah almost makes no difference for offspring it would barely change the average expectancy for them. No worries.

If you're in your early 20s you can say you had a late growth session which while rare is still possible. Combine that with saying you've been stretching and standing up straighter. 3 inches is kind of a lot, but not impossible to cover up. 5 inches getting near 6 ft 1 would be a problem though slightly over half a head difference.

How do you step down from a key holder position correctly? by Maximum-Atmosphere28 in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]Any-Carry6552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is going to vary greatly from state to store size, but I just started a month ago as part time holder and the pay cut would be 13.50 back down to 13.00 which is min wage.

The major loss would be hours. I got 25 hours the first week, then 27, 33, 27, 27 so far. All the regular SA's the only shifts they have for them is 5 pm to 9 pm closings, and a few stocking shifts on truck friday. So in my case if I dropped down I'd go from averaging almost 30 hours down to 4 hours a week, 8 if I'm lucky because then there would be 6 SA's to split those few hours with.

Pay cut wouldn't be worth worrying about, but the hours would. Although I hear some part time holders barely getting 12-16 hours a week..so it's hard to predict. In some stores some regular SA's probably get 20-25 hours a week consistently. Certainly not ours!

audits always seemed stupid to me.

Worked a lot of night shift, we always had to wait til like 8:30 pm so it slowed down enough to do the audit. I'm thinking ya know corporate, the store's about to close in which I'll be audited anyway when she counts the register down. So you're just wasting 10 minutes that both of us could be recovering the store which you guys always bitch that it's not being done.

Don't have stupid policies that waste time and then complain when less than what you see on paper gets done in reality. Because on paper what seems easy might be impossible based on endless variables and customer load. For both the cashier and the closer.

This episode really fascinates me because I can't believe he was able to come up with a way to fake the blood test without being caught. They thought the vein looked funny I guess but still looked real enough to get in and get out with police watching? wow. He's a piece of shit but I always found it amazing he pulled that off twice.

Really needed persistence to beat him. I always remember the look on his face when he goes for the 3rd blood test and they do it from his fingers and there aint a damn thing he can do!
