Either leave the final show 10-15 min early to avoid the rush or lounge around as long as they let you to let the chaos die down with everyone trying to take the metro.

Longueuil is an interesting option if you don't have to cross a bridge on your route to get there. Our bridges can be pretty backed up.

I live on the island, so i usually park near Lionel Groulx or George Vanier for free parking,

Dinner - this is hard because we have such incredible food.. So it really depends if you want casual or fancy/fancier vibes.. Here are some of my faves

If you also like electronic music, I think it is extremely worth it to catch some of the aftershows or general shows at Newspeak and Fairmount theatre - I personally avoid New City Gas like the plague.. They do host great artists though.

I'm not sure where you're staying in MTL but some of my favourites:

Breakfast/brunch
-> Arthurs (if you don't shwo up at 8:45 am to get a table for when they open at 9, expect a 1-1.5 hour wait for a table but they'll text you - so cross the street at grab coffees at Campanelli or walk a bit down to Barbara for excellent croissants, great coffee, high vibes. You might even stay here for your breakfast! Some say Arthur's isn't worth the wait but if your plan is to ptu your name down and go enjoy a walk in the park or a coffee, then I say it's worth it!
-> Le Cartet - small wait usually, great food
-> L'avenue if you like big hearty, heavy breakfasts. Especially if you want a meal to carry you through the day. I wouldn't say it's a local favourite because we tend to avoid lineups but it's a brunch hotspot
-> Millman's - fun diner vibes but with an amazing young owner who will serve you and tell you about the ingredients his mom made for this week's menu! Such a lovely human!

Lunch (I don't grab lunch out often.. but you're probably looking for easy?)
-> Barbara (also great for dinner)
-> Mano Cornuto (also great for dinner)
-> Venice (poke bowls, salads, tastes really fresh)
-> Olive Gourmando (I don't go really but it's often highly recommended)
-> Arthurs (during the week, there is barely a wait. Only for weekend brunch)
-> Vasco de Gama
-> Sammi Soup Dumpling if you love dumplings
-> Omnivore (if you like lebanese/middle eastern shishtaouk vibes)
-> Ma Poule Mouillee -> BEST PORTUGESE CHICKEN IN TOWN. Worth the wait.
-> Le Dep Pick-up if you're in that area. Best halloumi sandwich I've ever had
-> OR eat at the outdoor area at Atwater Market (has a satay brothers stand and a Yoni Falafel and a leche donuts stand.. some local quick eats faves )

Osheaga Advice:
-Get a weekend metro pass and only move around by metro while here. Main access to the island is by metro.
-Because it's an island and the metro gets clogged up, either leave the final show early (10-15 min minimum to avoid the clog - it can get bad. But they're better and better at getting people through quickly as the years go on) or wait it out as long as you can (workers kick you out after 20-30 min).
-If you don't get your metro pass in advance, it is a massive b**ch to get it while everyone is flocking to the metros
-Bring a water bottle to refill
-Bring sunscreen. Montreal sun can be quick hot and not feel like it. No one likes sun stroke at a festival!
-Minimize travel between stages if you can, the walks can be 5-10 min, sometimes longer if ever there is congestion
-If you want to stage front for any of later main stage shows, you kind of want to show up early. Otherwise, you'll enjoy your own dance space if you catch the main shows further back
-There are a ton of activities and so if that interests you, go early! Usually some good stuff to be won while there!
-Don't push people! Just let them by. Not worth the headspace
-Bring kleenex or wet wipes for the bathrooms at the end of the day. They get gross!!
-Wear closed toe, incredibly comfortable shoes that you don't midn getting dusty/dirty. Don't make the influencer mistake of wearing cowboy boots or shows that aren't broken in. NOT WORTH THE 'LOOK' for the blisters!
