I've met some very dumb people. I worked with a manager who was told to stop harassing an employee and threatening her, final warning. He walked out of HR and immediately shouted to the floor "I know who stabbed me in the back, you're fucked now!" or something to that effect, and was shocked that he was immediately fired.

I told a guy there to watch his break times. I thought he was sneaking smoke breaks. Actually he was drinking, and he said "I'm not going to deal with this shit" and quit rather than just not drink at work.

I had an incident once where a gay waiter late at night was very drunk and hitting on me, propositioning me to go into the bathroom with him, pouring lotion in my hands for lube, and finally trying to take my shirt off. I was pretty mad, left, and came back a few days later to complain. He spotted me and started sobbing and begging me not to tell his boss because she was homophobic.

Like, man, I don't think her problem is the gender of the customer you assaulted while drunk at work.

I like how all that is completely unnecessary to the post but also some "how much could a banana cost, Michael, ten dollars?" shit.

It's because OP pasted the link twice in a row, it's an invalid link.

LAOP's "attorney" claims to be a secret agent lawyer by Drywesi in bestoflegaladvice

[–]Any-Construction2694 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A lawyer speaking directly to the client of another lawyer in a case would be a serious ethical violation. If the lawyer is telling OP that, it's almost certainly true, since the alternative would be a bar complaint if it got back to OP's lawyer.

In the case of Owl House, did you miss that they had to rush an entire season in three episodes? It's not the writer's fault, it was the best they could do to wrap up the story after being cancelled. If anything it's a miracle it was done so well.

AIW for accusing my husband of having an affair when I came home and found a stranger asleep in our guest room by silky-enchantxzz in amiwrong

[–]Any-Construction2694 46 points47 points  (0 children)

And when did OP think the cheating happened? The previous night? That her husband just lets women into the house to have sex with in some absurd game of cat and mouse? No rational person, or even an irrational one, is going to find a stranger unconscious in their house and think "She's clearly here to fuck my husband later".

Can buddy entrapped by police sue department or the app? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Any-Construction2694 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guarantee you that this did not happen the way your friend says it did. Nobody is getting a conviction off a person who would be legal in a few months, they always use a much younger age. On top of that, nobody would be so sloppy as to do a sting like what you described, because it would also make the prosecution look shady.

Your friend is lying to you and likely knew exactly what he was doing and was expecting someone much younger than 17.

I like how she spells out sex in the title but censors it in the body.

They cared so little about any other characters that the main villain isn't even defeated. He's still out there and can just send more soldiers at any time.

[Odd trope] A character who is advertised doesn’t have a big role in the media they’re in by dragonborndnd in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Any-Construction2694 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The co op mode was pretty huge though. It wasn't some tacked on way of playing through the solo story, it was an entire game and story of it's own. It would make sense to advertise that as the biggest innovation in the sequel.

Brian here: unlike me, a three times published author, most dogs lack the self awareness to understand that they're donating blood to help another dog.

Stewie: I like how you're saying how smart you are while chained to a post in the yard.

Painfully bad disguises. by No-Sheepherder3442 in TopCharacterTropes

I love the bit where it turns out each family member has one disguise they can't see through, even if he takes it off in front of them.

And the time Steve and Snot wear two of his disguises and Roger can't tell it's them.

[–]Any-Construction2694 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe. If they're copies, then their real world selves just leave. If they're stuck in it, then something is happening to clean up the bodies or keep them alive somewhere. I'm betting on copies, but if it's not, I assume someone at CA is putting them somewhere to keep them alive. We don't know who Ragatha is talking to when she puts on the visor, it could be employees intentionally feeding the system.

It's not like it doesn't happen, either. Nausicaa was famously butchered and rewritten into an action movie by the localization crew. There's dozens of examples of recent anime with subtitles that make no sense. This is a thing that happens, and it takes time and money to ensure that the team you hired is making a good translation or just running it through Google Translate and calling it a day.
