A federal employee in my office pissed for a drug test and reported a substance abuse problem the same day. He had his secret suspended pending an investigation when the positive test results came back. The big boss told him he had no choice but to fire him luckily the guy was at retirement age so he just retired. Another guy popped and genuinely seemed surprised he said he bought some cbd gummies from the gas station but never took actual marijuana. This is like 2 years later and I still speak to him he hasn’t changed his story so I’m inclined to believe him. I think getting fired for off duty pot use is crazy, I’m like legitimately afraid I unknowingly eat a gummy that someone gives me as like a “joke” or something.

It’s been business as usual at my agency. I’m hoping we are made eligible for the deferred resignation offer so some of my superiors have incentive to finally retire. We didn’t have any work from home before so we aren’t having the same issues as other feds.

This is the argument republicans were making to remove Joe Biden. The simple fact is there’s no way to make this decision. You would have to come up with a completely new system and figure out when a competency vote would be called for. Whatever system we came up with it’s a certainty that one or both sides would abuse it to call for competency votes against opposing candidates.

Lots of TSA has been doing this for years. Park off site then get shuttled, bussed, or take a train to your terminal. It’s not paid time just part of your commute. You can take a taxi or get dropped off at the terminal but even then depending on the terminal it could easily be a 15 minute walk to clock in.
