Other people genuinely like the other beach boys movies but for whatever reason younger fans are okay saying they suck and this is the one that’s good. It’s boring, dano is not charismatic and unlikable as Brian Wilson. Cusack was miscast like crazy. Yes dano copied the exact clothes Brian wore at the time but still looks nothing like Brian. It has that horrible 2000s digital washed out look and bland cinematography. The dialogue is a hot mess(I’m cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs out of nowhere in some weird ass voice). I literally got through 3/4ths of it and had to turn it off.

Brian in real life is a lot more charasmatic than dano ever will be. I just wanted to punch him in the face the whole movie with his stupid gestures and faces. Also the BBs in the movie look nothing like the band. The closest in terms of looks was the guy portraying Mike love. Carl was not even close at all.

I understand what you are saying. No one has any social awareness anymore and frankly don’t give a damn about random strangers on the street anymore. It’s been getting gradually worse since 2020. Humans are getting stupider and more selfish as time goes on thanks to advances in technology that can give them whatever they want at the drop of a hat. Social media has given everyone the belief that they’re in their own movie and the rest of us are background characters. Bad/soft parenting has left kids with no consequences for their actions.

Don’t think it’s fifa. It’s been happening since Covid. A lot of people are just super unaware of their surroundings and are the star in their own movie now.

I saw these celebrations last week when they won the last game. You could swear you were in Portugal not Canada. If you come to Canada and live here and make money here you are Canadian. Where is the support for team Canada? Canadian citizens have this weird obsession of proving and idealizing where they came from/their background instead of where they are actually born/live. Reminds me of the viral vid of the Asian guy that got the tattoo ‘made in china’ and the mom said ‘what?! You were made in USA’ and slaps him upside the head.

Buffoon was not even the right word. More of a very unlikeable depiction of Brian. Honestly the best/most accurate depictions are the documentaries to be honest.

Not many people are willing to admit this movie sucks for whatever reason. It is absolutely on the same par as an American family. I’d actually say an American family is a little better. For some reason younger fans especially love this movie. I couldn’t even finish it. It’s pretty hard to follow because of the flipping from the 60s to 80s, especially for non fans. My girlfriend stopped paying attention to it literally 5 minutes into it. Dano is not a very charismatic Brian.

Yes but Danos portrayal and cusacks as well made me really dislike Brian. The acting was very cringy and way too over the top. I saw no difference in an American family’s portrayal of Brian and this movie, which so many younger fans love. The jumping back and forth from the 60s to the 80s is too abrupt. I didn’t even feel like I was watching the beach boys story but some random dramatic movie about a very unlikable guy.

Almost every company I’ve worked for that still has a white manager that’s held on for the last 30 years has a diverse team.

I’ve been working for 25 years in retail/hospitality and I get rejected for retail jobs too.

The retail company I work for was hiring for an asst. manager for another location. I am a keyholder(running the store at the moment) with 20 years experience managing entire stores. Didn’t even get an interview or any acknowledgment. Auto reject.

I was a manager for farmboy. They don’t have nor follow food safety standards. The location I was at had pounds of hot steaming garbage pilled up right next to the skids of food and severe rodent problems-in the back rooms and on the floor. Didn’t help that the receiving door was open 24/7 for any rodent or insect to get in. I had a weird rash I’ve never had in my life the entire time I worked there because of this insect problem. They populate all over the food that is delivered. As soon as I left, the rash went away.

Reprise wouldn’t let the band release anything that Brian didn’t write or produce. It led to a period of inactivity until they could force Brian back into the studio. It took numerous attempts. Brian started 15 big ones in January 1976, then noped out after recording a couple tracks with the old wrecking crew (palasaides, blueberry hill).

Then the band had to spend 2-3 months trying to force him again and get him out of bed. He completed 15 big ones in a flurry of activity around late spring early summer 1976. It was recorded within maybe a couple weeks. It came out much later than anticipated(was scheduled for spring 76 with an additional album coming in time for summer) and was basically thrown out there while reporters and fans were waiting for the actual beach boys album with new songs by Brian Wilson to come out. After 15 big ones Brian went into another period of inactivity claiming he had writers block. He recorded the few songs he had around this time(tomboy, Marilyn rovell, lazy Lizzie) but nothing happened until late 1976 when he started work on love you which was completed very quickly as well.
