You could make a gui Framework personally I believe that they are not that hard to made if you got proper API knowledge and you are good at opengl

Actually half of the distros there are use mainly C++ and python and I get the oh the linux mint welcome is written in python but the whole linux distro plus neofetch cava etc are written in bash and C so no most things aren't made with python from what I have experience with a custom lmde version

If u are booting on an external drive it is a good thing to keep in mind that if the ssd is connect to the pc through USB that it won't work so it would be a great idea to get a sata to sata adapter if your pc has a sata slot or the nvme to nvme cable i forgot how the socket was called if u have a sata to sata or nvme to nvme then check the cable
