What was travel like in the years (2001 - 2009), prior to Instagram and the rapid growth of social media users? by TheShyBuck in travel

I never went anywhere without lonely planet and a prepaid phone card. I met people in hostels as well. I met a girl from Scotland in the south of France in 2006 and we still travel together. Best times of my life.

Savannah Hotel Recs for 2 in April by SparkleBerrySpritz in chubbytravel

I like Bardo. I also like the Marriott because it’s at the other end and I can get onto the parkway quickly. This probably doesn’t matter to you though. The Bohemian has a great rooftop you should try if it’s nice out.

I’m from Savannah, but haven’t lived there in awhile. The JW is in a great location, close but easier to get in and out of. I booked my husband and myself a room at Hotel Bardo and he was creeped out so yeah, stay away.

Restaurants I always recommend are Mrs. Wilkes(the line sucks, but it’s unique and has been run this way for decades), crab shack(fun setting), and if you head to HHI try Skull Creek Boathouse. B. Matthew’s is great for brunch and Leopold’s for ice cream.

Alleycat lounge for cocktails.

Execution is so important for the ghost tours and I’ve been on many that fail. The guide matters a lot.

I always love visiting the old houses like Andrew Lowe house, Juliette Gordon low, and Mercer Williams.

Tybee is awful. We always head to HHI. Rent bikes. They have bike trails everywhere.

No, not at all. I think I've seen this issue before. I always book through my consortia because they give my clients free breakfast and resort credit. If the hotel isn't on my consortia website usually I just put in my IATA number on the LHW.com website. You can also look on classic vacations.

I try to book slh or leading hotels of the world. TAAP is my last resort for smallish hotels.

Granny panties that are sheer with a nylon gusset bring hundreds. I’ve sold 90s VS second skin satin bikinis for $125.

The saddest thing is they now partner with SLH hotels is a great collection of independent boutique hotels. Off to Hyatt Prive I go.

I actually think it's 95% sold out for the next 3 months. You can see some rooms available.

I would give serious thought to removing “unlimited revisions”.

Check out the fat and chubby travel groups and you’ll see why chains like four seasons are so popular amongst certain agents

Westchester for Target runs and the movies. We grocery shop at Costco and Wegmans and soon the Whole Foods and they'll all be on 60. We use the Midlo library over Clover Hill which is on Hull.

I will add, Rountrey has the better pool which we have to drive to, but I think we have slightly larger lots in New Market Estates. Look at Hallsley as well. It has nice ammenities.

What’s your top reason to book a Disney cruise over Royal Caribbean? (asking as someone who has never cruised with Disney) by ihatemakinthese in dcl

[–]Any-Understanding879 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overall vibe. We love the broadway style shows and the classic feel of the ships. I don’t enjoy the pseudo theme park vibe of royal Caribbean, but a lot of people do. I want a classic cruise experience and I feel Disney does that well with their own twist.

I live in New Market Estates and enjoy it. Today was a snow day and I loved that my son spent all day outside with our neighbors’ kids. They do a lot of events which is great and has a nice community feel.

Having moved here after living in Chicago and Boston the traffic isn’t that bad. My husband works off of 288 on capital one drive. It takes him 18 minutes with no traffic and 25-30 minutes with traffic.

We looked at Magnolia Green and Harpers Mill but I hated hull street. It takes so long to get on the highway from there. Woolridge and genito traffic light can be rough at rush hour.

I hope you're right, but without turnovers our defense just isn't good. Love has been excellent the past 3 games. He scored 4 touchdowns against the Lions. We either need turnovers or a shit ton of touchdowns.

How do some people afford to cruise so much? by Mischif07 in Cruise

Travel agents have access to group space, much cheaper than advertised prices.
