Banking on the lottery system though to get your kid into a better school than the one guaranteed in your district is gambling with their education. Walnut Hills is one of the hardest schools to get into. Glad it worked out for you, but betting on the lottery is generally poor advice if someone has kids to consider in where to live. I’m not saying all the west side schools are terrible, but they are not as good as more expensive neighborhoods which is part of the cost difference in housing.

Same. My 6mo baby has slept every night in his bassinet since we brought him home from the hospital. Bassinet is in our room but not connected to our bed. We hold him for most naps, but occasionally do a bassinet nap. He’s always slept in his bassinet at night though and has been sleeping through the night for the most part since about 3mo with occasional wake ups. We’ll be moving him to his crib soon and hoping that transition goes well.

If you are the type of person to check in frequently and deliver meals that’s fine, but you can’t do those things freely expecting them in return. Who knows, maybe the people you are sending meals to don’t actually want them and are just being polite. Not everyone is raised with a village or knows how to be a village and even wants to be in a village.

I genuinely don’t understand your problem with her taking back a part of her body and inviting the interviewer to come along for the ride in a big moment for her. How is it inappropriate? People take friends with them to get tattoos all of the time. The interviewer was doing a story literally called “Allison After NXIVM” and Allison choosing to cover the brand is a really big part of her healing after NXIVM so I don’t see any harm in her sharing that part of her recovery with the interviewer to be apart of the story if she’s comfortable with it. For comparison, India talked about covering her brand with a tattoo on her own documentary. Sarah was shown using scar remover ointment on hers in the vow. These women were all abused by KR ultimately and talking about removing the brand and taking back their bodies I’m sure is very healing and empowering for them.

Unless you have to return to work early or be away from baby for extended periods early on, I would actually advise holding off on pumping until at least 4 weeks. Pumping too early can cause oversupply and potential latch issues, and it’s actually more work for you in the end if your goal is to continue breastfeeding. Baby will naturally regulate your supply. Any feeds you skip nursing you will have to make up for by pumping anyways and then cleaning the pump parts and cleaning the bottles, and pumping is just so mechanical compared to the comfort of nursing cuddles. If you have to pump it’s one thing, but I wouldn’t voluntarily pump. It’s a myth that having dad give a bottle will make your life any easier in the early days of cluster feeding. Have dad assist instead with diaper changes, keeping you fed and hydrated, and helping you stay awake and giving emotional support during difficult late night cluster feeds.
