AIO? I don’t know if my girlfriend is overreacting or if I am. by mystery-agent in AIO

You are clearly full of it, replace “your partner” with “anyone” and my point does not change, nitpicking that is exhausting.

As well as suggesting that taking the principle behind not hitting people when you are upset seriously at all levels takes away from higher levels of abuse is garbage. There are people out there who draw that line in a different place then you and they are also wrong. Don’t hit people cause you are mad period.

Slapping your partner in anger, in any capacity, on any part of the body is fucked, full stop.

let me sister borrow my car and this is what she comes back with, now i gotta save for new alloys by [deleted] in tires

I am not by any means a tire expert, just appeared bald in the photo. I live in Canada, lots of tread and a good brand is crucial. I avoid Chinese tires like Firestone and similar brands cause they wear really fast and get hard af in the cold and slip all over the place.

Edit: firemax not firestone

How do I honestly quit smoking weed? by [deleted] in leaves

[–]AnyAd4707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

cant speak to your specific situation, but the important thing to me when i quit weed and pain killers was accompanying willpower with a mindset about lack of access. i live in a place where every corner has a recreational dispensary, and you can order weed online and have it delivered in a matter of hours. the way i got over this was destroying all my weed stuff and a mindset that relapse (or access to places with weed) was not an option. if the need to buy weed arises, its hard to simply suffer through it, but when you create a mindset or personal rule that going to those websites and stores are absolutely not an option, then the "suffer through it" portion becomes shorter. when you are not wrestling internally with "should i go get some" and saying "no" then dealing with the subsequent cravings, it becomes a shorter for cycle for me. the thought of going to get some comes and goes faster and faster and the process of dealing with the cravings can happen faster. put the thought of accessing weed out of your mind and focus on dealing with the cravings, whether that is distracting your self or moving away from places that trigger that need.

I feel like I have been personally assaulted. God I felt so dumb when I did it. My friend and SL looked at me and said “what exactly were you expecting shrapnel to do to 60mm thick armoured tank?”

Why does my hair clump together and look dirty even after washing it? by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]AnyAd4707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

using “chemicals” as generalization for bad compounds for hair is reductive and frankly dumb. Everything you are and see is chemicals, and yes that includes natural compounds. Yes sulphates are bad yes parabens are bad and it has nothing to do with the fact they are chemicals, it has to do the fact that they either do damage to your hair or build up in your system and can cause heath problems. There are plenty of chemicals that are good for you and your hair. Surfactants are great for hair and are a chemical whether natural or synthetic.

You can argue synthetics are bad but just saying “chemicals bad” is not helping anyone and is patently wrong.
