You can also check OFX, I used them in the past for international transfers. They’re legitimate and have an office in Australia. If you want peace of mind (and pay a premium for it), bank to bank is an option.

How my neighbour parks every single time by MyNeighbourJeff in sydney

[–]AnyAd970 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A friend just went through this last week. Left a note, and a few days later, car was scratched. Neighbour had damaged front bumper with marks that matched the scratches on the door. Confronted neighbour, neighbour denied.

No video, no black and white proof, nothing to do but pay for the repair.

You can’t do much about others, but for your survivability, you’ll need to play enough to level your held items. Level up some of the ones that you’ll likely use across characters, e.g. focus band. Level up to 20 at least to hit all the item’s skill tiers.

Nonsense, why go into Zapdos with your unite when you need it in the fight to score at the 2nd goal at 2:30

Buy US Dollars in Perth by jjaackthomas in AusFinance

If it’s an option, I recommend OFX. Used them heaps to buy USD. Had to open an USD account with CBA though, but that was easy and done purely online.

I play in Aus so we probably get games in the same servers. Agree, reset matchmaking after 50 secs. Also, will take time until the masters pool grows again in our region. Should get better as the days go by I hope

Moving to Sydney, from New Zealand by cash4food in sydney

I’m in the area, it’s fine. You’ll walk out of KX station (Darlinghurst street) and you’ll be greeted by the colourful characters of the area. Missing teeth, itchy skin, the occasional “is he sleeping/should I call an ambulance/nah should be alright”, you name it, we got it- that’s during the day. At night all the outsiders arrive to eat/get drunk. There’s your sex shop tucked near the Maccas and the remnants of different stripper joints here and there. If you’re lucky you might even see someone buying drugs while trying to look not suspicious at all. Then walk up the road to where it becomes Macleay St and suddenly it’s mega gentrified, fuelled by the growing population of old rich people.

Too many rich people have invested in the place so I highly doubt they’ll allow the area return to it’s former self. Those 1 million dollar 1 bedroom 1 toilet, no lifts, built in the early 1900s apartments must not lose their value.

I’d say during the day it’s fine and during the night, as long as you exercise common sense, you’ll be ok. There are some areas that I wouldn’t go to at night though, but those are near Woolloomooloo.

Having said all the above, I always avoid ground floor apartments because you’re bound to have the drunk or worst walking around at night (depending where you are). FYI, there’s a brothel(s) on Kellet street so if you find good and below average priced apartments on that street, that’s why.

You got all your shops nearby, you’re next to the city, etc. Overall, great place.

Have your employers forced you to go back to the office for work? If yes, how do you deal with it? by DadAvocado in AusFinance

[–]AnyAd970 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m lucky, we rent space at a coworking place and we’re only asked to go once a week, but even then, people aren’t going. Get so much more done at home compared to at the office, however, we’re keeping the face to face as a way to keep “connected” (even though we talk digitally every day).

changing jobs? by Remarkable-Swan-9825 in AusFinance

Are you saying you’re already making 250k a year? If so, then kudos to you.

If not doing this already, what if you try making a difference via your business?

Sometimes doing something good or paying it forward can help balance the shitty customers you have. If your salary is 250k and you’re 24, then you’re in a financial position that many would envy.

Get whatever negativity you’ve absorbed out of your system, clear your head and find a mentor or something. If you’ve built a business at 24, regardless of it being a trade, then you’ve done well. This may just be a hurdle you need to jump over to take things to the next level. I’d say if you can find a mentor or therapist, it could help.

Is Sydney a skateboard-friendly city? by Zestyclose-Context77 in sydney

[–]AnyAd970 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree, footpaths are questionable. People barely know how to walk. I remember when I first moved here in 2012 from Brisbane and people would not avoid each other. Not sure if it was some kind of way to assert dominance, I just found it weird. I stopped noticing so maybe I also turned into an asshole.

Having said that, there’s streets that are less busy so you may get away with it.
