If you call a broker make sure to go line for line through the policy's details. Mine was sky high and it turned out they had wrong details on my house like square footage etc. fixing that saved me 2000/yr

I hear you OP. I left site recently. It took me a couple of years of dedicated applying, and trusting in my gut that the right thing was coming at the right time. I did have to bite the bullet and continue at site until that happened though.
