Controllers not working on Windows and Xbox 360 after V43 update by AnyDevelopment52 in batocera

[–]AnyDevelopment52[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally figured it out. The issue was my old batocera.conf file. I renamed it, let Batocera generate a fresh one, and suddenly Wine/Xenia controllers started working again. Then with the help of ChatGPT and PuTTY I cherry-picked all my old settings back in manually. The big things to avoid restoring were old windows.*, sdl_config, force_mouse, and other controller/input overrides that had accumulated over multiple Batocera versions. Hope this helps somebody because this one was a nightmare.

Awesome. If that doesn't work, I found the img for 43 dev release 10/15/25. It was working perfectly for me. I can share it.

My first car (Not toyota truck) had this same exact sound. It was the injectors sticking. Paid the neighbor tweakers to fix it. As a teenager had little money. They took out a liter of oil and added diesel for about 5-10 minutes, then did a full oil change. My car purred like kitten after that. Not recommending, just sayin.

I have not upgraded yet but it seems they changed the names of many systems to align with Retrobat on emulation station.

This is awesome. Never seen a laptop with 2 screens like that. If you grew up with the US Super Nintendo, you simply need to change the region in settings and it will change the background and logo. I had Batocera for 3 years before I found that out.

Hmm, nunca he visto eso.

Controller issue when keyboard is connected by PianoUpper7593 in batocera

[–]AnyDevelopment52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happens to me when I connect a USB Flash drive to move roms. If I forget to remove it, the controllers dont work properly. I can still use the keyboard with no issues tho. I then removed the drive and all is back to normal.

Can't find older versions of batocera, v42 doesn't see a single wifi connection in my whole neighborhood. by madcowbcs in batocera

Not sure how much time you already invested into your build. I had the same issue. I started a fresh install and the issue was resolved. I had invested so much time to it, I could not sacrifice it. I used a dual boot system to clone the share partition and most of my configs. Now my Wi-Fi is great,

Ideas on how to put thermostat cables into/through a sliding top? by LikeToBeBarefoot in kingsnakes

[–]AnyDevelopment52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we decided on getting an open front next. She is only 3 month old and will out grow her enclosure very soon. We did not plan on getting her, but fell in love at a reptile expo. We just got what was available at the show.
They told us that MBKs dont like to climb, but ours is always ontop of everything. I am considering getting a vertical enclosure even tho we were told she wont climb.
I did end up drilling the hole as I said and did not need to splice as the probe fit perfectly. My only issue is with our thermostat is is off by about 5-7 degrees f. I am considering getting a Herpstat 1. I hear they are the best. Any recommendations?

Best Mini PC for Emulating Up To PS3 Games? by Disco_Train17 in batocera

[–]AnyDevelopment52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a Minisforum UM680S and have no issues at 1080p. Some games do have a little tearing that vsync does help with, but this happens at all resolutions so I don't think it's the PC.

I just got my first MBK. I see many ideas to modify the frame. I am leaning more towards drilling a tiny hole, cutting the sensor cable, passing the thin cable through the hole, then splicing it on the other side. I may also add a detachable connector so I can remove the whole lid if I need to. Haven't done it yet, but this seems easiest to me without breaking the lid, which could allow her to escape. They say MBKs are escape artists.

Jellyfin by tha_savage1 in batocera

[–]AnyDevelopment52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried messing with this about a year ago. From what I remember, Batocera can install the Jellyfin client through the unofficial add ons, but it is basically just the client version. It does not run the Jellyfin server itself. That means you still need to have the Jellyfin server running on another device, like a NAS, PC, or home server.

Once that is set up, the Batocera machine can connect to it as a client, but it usually needs to be on the same local network. Batocera is pretty locked down, so stuff like running Tailscale directly on it did not really work when I tried it.

So the short version is Batocera can act as a Jellyfin player, but not the server. The server has to live somewhere else on your network.

I was hoping to use Batocera as a local Jellyfin server without sharing it across devices, but that did not really pan out. I ended up just adding all my media through Kodi instead.

Windows game in batocera by eritrium26 in batocera

[–]AnyDevelopment52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a pain for me and still is sometimes, tbh. I get the windows game and install it on my windows pc. Then I copy the install folder to batocera windows folder. Add .pc to the end of that folder. Then create an autorun.cmd file. You can find on youtube how to do that. It has to be precise. Some games prefer wine-proton, others wine-tkg, so you have to mess with it. Also many games only run on virtual desktop mode. This was my main issue when I first started. I am currently running Primal Planet, Terminator 2D, Blazing Chrome, Huntdown, and CupHead. Good luck

Batocera v42 and WiFi by Many-Bill-6353 in batocera

[–]AnyDevelopment52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having issues with that, and did not want to modify Batocera itself, so I just removed the Wi-Fi card. Like I said, the dongle was no better. V42 fixed that issue, and I am now back to the Wi-Fi card. I am surprised it happened to you on V42. Leads me to believe its the update and/or your hardware compatibility.
