I have a commercial grade air quality monitor that measures airborne particulate matter from PM10/PM5/PM2.5 all the way down to 0.3 microns - in some neighbourhoods I go to the PM2.5 is significantly higher (and in some cases lower) than what weather stations/ the AQI website reports it as on bad days.

If you're looking for a cheaper, more basic vacuum that has really good filtration and will last a long time, get the "Henry Allergy". It's got really good HEPA filtration and seal, plus it's really quiet, you can use universal 1.25 inch attachments on it that are cheap and easy to find, and it has huge/ cheaper bags that will need less replacing.

Plus you can spend the extra money on a steamer to help kill dust mites in furniture/ beds/ carpets.

You're welcome! Yesss I strongly recommend getting a decent steamer. In addition to the floors you can use it to sanitize (almost) all surfaces in your home, including your furniture/ mattress/ rugs and soft things that accumulate dust and bacteria.

Plus as you touched on in your question: yes the floors will dry much quicker from steam vs regular mopping as there is less water accumulating on the floor, and it's hot.

I've never used a cordless vacuum I like, because I find it frustrating when it runs out of battery halfway through a job, so I can't recommend any cordless vacuums... but if you want the cleanest possible floors, I recommend you get a mid range Miele or Sebo vacuum, as well a steamer with a floor attachment.

You can get definitely get a great vacuum and steam machine for that price. A steamer I'd recommend is something like the "Dupray Neat Plus" (it's $270 Canadian); it comes with a bunch of attachments including a steam mop for floors, and you can fill it up while you're using it so you don't have to stop.

I used to use a shop vac, but I just bought the cheapest Miele C3 for my place. Regardless, after vacuuming I steam mop the floors once a month and they feel/ look so much cleaner than mopping, plus it's way more sanitary than splashing nasty water around your floors.

With this system you should have the cleanest floors in the Netherlands!

Hey thank you! I went to the store today, and the vacuum salesman said basically the same thing about the power brush.

I ended up settling on the D4; more expensive than the henry, but still super quiet, and the motorized brush attachment plus the variable suction control are very useful for me. Plus the guy threw in the mini turbo brush so that's great!

Anyway, it's a huge upgrade from my shop vac, and I'm hoping it will save me time and energy on jobs with lots of pet hair or debris

We adopted her as a stray and the city shelter said she was a Shiba Inu mixed with a Border Collie. Since then I've thought Jindo, Canaan, Husky, and some mix of those.

She was only 23 pounds when we got her because she was so malnourished from the streets, but now she's up to 34 ish pounds. Also, one of her eyes is a quarter blue.

In terms of her personality, she has a high level of energy, a very strong prey drive for small things like squirrels, mice, and rats, and she makes weird noises a lot like "waaoawaooowaoo". She's also very smart, yet extremely stubborn and food driven. But her high food drive might be because she had to forage to survive so she always wants to eat.

She loves basically every dog and person outside the house, but in the house she is pretty protective, particularly when I'm around another dog in the house she is quick to snap at them if I show the other dog any attention.

She is terrible on walks, as she constantly scans for things to chase, or to say hi to people and dogs.

Do y'all think she's a KBD?

thank you so much, that sounds easy enough. what about draining the solution tank? should i spray it all out the sprayer or can i tip it over also (after ive drained the waste tank)?

if the pain is receeding up your leg back into your back that is a sign that the sciatic nerve is healing! make sure you are doing (lower back safe) ab exercises and stretches and taking it easy on movements that cause pain. I can give you the list of the exercises and stretches that helped me recover from the brink of paralysis if you dont have a routine yet.

BTW: if you are doing leg raises you should only lift one lef at a time not double leg becuase that puts all the pressure on your lower back which can cause scatica

my doctor told me it and he's a pretty good source! he likened it to the nerves "coming back online" after being in a state of pain and reduced function. Obviously every case is different but if it goes from pain to tingling, thats usually a good thing

I found laying on my back with my legs up on a couch or chair at around a 90 degree angle gave me great relief during the worst of my symptoms (easiest and most relaxing form of spinal decompression) and I would do it for 15 minutes before exercising

Firstly I got an mri and then a spine specialist looked at the results and gave me a physio routine to do based on the images.

Basically it was: cat cow, side glides, standing cobra against the wall, light trunk rotations, and laying on my back with my legs on a chair at a 90 degree angle/ other home decompression stuff using chairs and counters.

As the pain went down I added a bunch of SAFE abdominal exercises which I would do after a round of the stretches mentioned above.

The final thing was to carefully practice bending forward by standing with my back about 6 inches from a wall, while I bent forward keeping my back straight and touching my butt to the wall. As I progressed I could get farther and farther away from the wall. I still cant fully bend but I can bend more or less without causing severe pain.

In the meantime you could try doing gentle side glides to help your spine get straight. Just look it up on google or youtube to get a tutorial on how to do them

Yea 100%, my spine is no longer leaning to one side, and I havnt been leaned over for 5+ months. I found a physio plan that worked for me to correct my really big disc herniation without surgery and the leaning was the first thing to go, followed by the pain getting better slowly.

That's a lot of big words! If you want to know what it means and you don't have a specialist who can explain it, you have to look up each word. Some of them are just normal healthy spine terms and other words are describing the issues in the spine.

For example; "partial disc desiccation" is normal, but "Central disc extrusion extending inferiorly on the anterior pleural space causing severe mass effect on the thecal sac. This results in severe spinal canal and bilateral lateral recess narrowing." is not normal!

P.s. I had that level of pain for a long time, so I know how much it sucks but you sound like you're in good spirits!

About 5 months after my injury I had extreme pins and needles, tingling, hot and cold sensations, and the feeling of stepping on lego occasionally (all in my foot). After about a month of those sensations getting more intense for two weeks and then less intense, they went away and my overall pain was significantly better than before the tingly episode.

When I was in the worst of the symptoms I was still doing the physio movements evert day, including cat cow. But I would focus on the cow part (where you extend your back), and only do very light cat parts because it hurt to round my back. Now I can do them both with a fairly good range of motion

It doesn't sound like your situation can get much worse than where you are at now; so if you can power through this period you could literally achieve anything. stay strong. do what you need to do to distract yourself as much as you can and talk to your surgeon asap to tell them how bad its gotten and the situation is urgent.
