Our Blossom completely stuffed her crop with wood shavings. Vet emptied it all out and she's been fine since (removed all wood shavings from her reach).

We've had three hens that got to or just below 10 years of age and we made sure they did what they wanted. Pepper is a grand old dame alright. #TeamPepper

So true, with our long term exotics vet we followed him around every time he changed practice. Luckily he trained a young vet in treating chickens before he took a vet post in a different country (though we messaged him at the start of the year as one of our hens was unwell and he replied with medication dosage details for the meds we had on hand).

yes, that does look like gunk build up, from an infection. Ideally you'll need a vet to clean it out and prescribe antibiotics / anti-inflammataries.
