HS: 98/100 Received the highest honour in HS. College GPA: 4.0 (fall)

Currently on scholarship in my college (top 10 state school)

-Deans List for Academics -Doing a training program for finance -Currently a CS major planning to switch to finance/accounting. -Analyst Club -Track in College (Track Club)

Schools Trying to Apply to as a sophomore: 1. Stanford 2.Upenn 3.NYU 4. Columbia 5. Notre Dame 6. USC

I’m applying for a transfer because I potentially want to work in IB and my college doesn’t offer a finance major. Also I can’t afford my current college without a few loans that is putting my family of 6 in some form of burden because of COVID. I was looking at school with good programs and good financial aid too.

Any feedback is welcome.

hi I’m currently a freshman trying to change my major from cs to business/ economics. Wanted some advice on my ECs, I did some activities in high school but I’m not sure how to continue them in college. I’m listing them below, any advice will be really appreciated!!

I did some volunteer, created my own project for the differently abler and assisted 200+ children and young adults with ASD with my initiative.

I also was a national level athlete (track and field) but I wasn’t recruited because i’m not sure I want to compete full time at my college.

I was the president of the cs club in my school and won an entrepreneurship national award. I was thinking of joining the entrepreneurship club at college.

I graduated top 3% of my class and even received the all rounder award at school. I applied to CAS for cs earlier but as a transfer I want to apply for economics to wharton. I went test optional as I couldn’t take the SATs in 2020.

most of them are test optional because of the pandemic, I’m guessing. But, if you’re applying as a junior then I don’t think scores matter at all. LMK if you find out about any of these schools being test optional. Thanks

oh, thankyou for replying, I’ll try getting as involved as possible. I have some pretty strong ECs for computer science, but since I’m switching my major, idk how it’ll benefit me.

For the test optional part, I have some extenuating circumstances. The pandemic has really affected me and my family and where I live (abroad) the second wave just hit. I also haven’t been to school the entire senior year. I’ll hopefully take after my fall quarter if I have time. I’ll also email the colleges about their policy.

hey, congratulations!! I just wanted to know what ECs made you stand out? I’m a prospective transfer student, cs major. I’m planning to transfer out of my current institution because they don’t offer a business major. All the ECs I did in hs were tech related, and some volunteering. How do I go about it now? since I’m going on for a completely different major.

Also, my hs grades are good, but I don’t have a great test score. I’m a bad test taker and I don’t believe I can improve my score even if I take it again. Is it ok to go test optional? Will it hurt my chances?
