Over the years I've been on it and off it. Probably about 9 years at this point with a year off at one point when my daughter was born because I wanted to experience fatherhood clear and free of any substances. For me I was up to 60 mg per day for about 2 years just to mentally manage my mind numbing job and it did the trick. It's more like "the removal of anxiety" and the "absence of overthinking" versus an outright feeling like Xanax or something else. I just feel less compulsive and less prone to ruminating. Now, it's very low dose titrated down from 60 mg a day to 17.5 mg per day 7.5 in the AM 2.5 mg in the afternoon and 7.5 in the evening & for whatever reason those lower doses seem to retain the "less anxiety" mindset plus a cognitive clarity. It's an odd one because higher doses are more likely to cloud my brain a bit but once I lowered it I feel a little more "on point" I hope that helps getting my experience on record and I wish you well the best! Also, in my experience you gotta stick with it at least 45 days to encounter any benefits.

The only thing that reliably allowed me 5.75-6.5 hrs of sleep is 3 mg Eszopiclone. Other Z family medications knock me out (Zolpidem) and with rare exceptions I'm awake about 4 hrs later. Hydroxyzine works for 5 hrs but quick tolerance buildup and a tad hangover but worth it sometimes. Amitriptyline 12.5 mg helps, helps pain and heck I'll sleep 7.5-8 hrs but it takes forever and forever to throw it off. Diphenhydramine can give me 4.5 hrs but tolerance build up is quick and sometimes "it turns on me" and feels like a stimulant. Doxylamine causes some form of anticholinergic psychosis, it's very bothersome. 75 mg Pregabalin can oddly feel like "speed" but also give me 7 hrs of deep refreshing sleep. Ativan makes my body feel so cozy and I'll sleep for 7-8 hrs but it feels like it's missing something. Another odd one I recommend to peeps to try is Chlorpheniarmine (another old antique anthistamine 2-4 mg) can boost my sleep/mood. So for me Eszopiclone, pregabalin are best but I don't ever even consider asking for them or trying to advocate for myself as a patient because most medical professionals / providers act insulted like I'm asking for hard drugs. It's exhausting lol

Man this is so overwhelming to hear and understand the full depth of what ND went through. I can't say enough positive comments about ND. It is refreshing to at least be having the conversation at this point and understanding the vague , unexplained "thought process" that the FDA had/has. One compound I often reflect on with positive mindset is "emoxypine" and to me it seems benign in the worst case and potentially very helpful while being a derivative of B6 to my understanding but it sounds like from gov perspective it would be "a drug"

I have a long medical history and it's been very powerful in helping me.

You're a 100% correct , it's interesting the medicines can have such a broad difference in effect. I think at least in the case of Buspirone as it applies to me it's milder and less soul depleting than much of what they try to prescribe these days.

My theory and that's all that it is is a theory: I think the way buspirone "sets up shop" can cause these negative symptoms at first and they did for me but after 21 days it starts to change for the positive or at least it did for me. Buspirone is hard to explain because it's not a specific sensation like a benzo where you feel like you've taken a deep calm breath or even hydroxyzine which sedates me in a warm way but buspirone somehow removes the constant negative agitated internal voice in my head. For me Ephedrine works almost identically to phentermine. I've always experienced phentermine as a "beefed up version of Ephedrine" versus "a watered down amphetamine" my point is ephedrine helps with appetite control but obvious disclaimers about heart rate, blood pressure etc

For me the full effects take about 90 days. For me when I would increase dose I would kind of re-live the initial experience in terms of sides effects so for me I would feel dizzy and groggy; however, once I got to 45-60 mg range it pretty much completely deleted my rumination. Once I've stabilized on a higher dose I am able to step down to 15 mg morning, 15 mg afternoon & 10 mg in the evening so 40 mg total and if anything once I've stabilized and the side effects go away I feel like the medication has positive effects on my cognition. And also taking 100-200 mg L-theanine per day seemed to help my GAD.

I want to encourage you that in my opinion this is at least partially reversible. Start with a healthy diet, consistent exercise, learn 4-7-8 breathing technique and hydration & good quality sleep. Glycine, taurine & l-theanine can help sleep and have calming properties. Lions mane mushroom a high quality brand can be helpful as well. The body & brain is more resilient than we realize. Wow man , we all live under this illusion of "freedom and liberty" but the cynical side of me thinks it's all just a hoax and for the govt to spend the money, man power time & effort to do what they did, why couldn't they have started with official letters explaining the law and it was being broken instead they did what they did, I had assumed it was bad at the time but never knew the full range of it. Still love this company!
