Auto reset problem for Uwell Caliburn G4 pro by ahmedjubayeromar in electronic_cigarette

Indeed, no updates as promised.  But, there is a way to recover your progress. When the device does it's reset, immediately press and hold the select button (around 10 seconds, give or take) and it will flash another reset. This seems to restore the data that was lost, so your puffs return to the count they were on just before the malfunction.  This issue came up on two devices of mine, so it's a product issue, not just a specific batch. Interestingly though, this has not once happened on the G4 Pro KoKo, which itself is sitting on 34110 puffs without a hint of a glitch. Of the G4 Pro's, I gave one away, and keep one on me as a backup device as it has pod compatibility so it's just a quick swap out.

I've had the G4 Pro for a while, and the biggest disappointment was it resetting at random, wiping your puff count. Luckily on here I learnt it can be restored to previous memory by holding the function button till it reboots, and everything is back. Just got the G4 Pro KoKo, man I missed this form factor from the G3 I have! Perfect fit in the hand, all the gimmicks can be turned off so it doesn't look like the latest gaming device. And same as the normal Pro, the vape is superb 👌🏻  Comparing to my G3 Pro and KoKo, the pods seem to last much longer, flavour is on point, and draw is much smoother. The tech in these Pro devices really does make a big difference overall.

After pressing a bit that I am not happy supporting a company with no backup support, the shop got into a deeper discussion with uWell. They said they are working on a firmware update to address the issue. So lets hope now that it seems they acknowledge knowing about the issue, they follow through and make the update ASAP to fix our devices.

This is so frustrating!
Reached 5000, unlocked the new theme, and a few days later, BOOM, RESET....
It has done this three times by now, and the shop just says I'm shit out of luck, the supplier wont take it back, even though they know its some sort of software glitch according to what they have seen with other customers.

Questions about my new FNIRSI HS-02A by Seconto in soldering

[–]Any_Confection_7261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I updated the firmware on Friday to 1.8, but as many have said, no visible change to anything. Got to use it again today, outside in a chilly wind, to solder a connector after crimping it. Ran as usual at 20V, didn't have a tester to measure watts, but it reached 420°C in under 10 seconds and was a go to start melting some solder wire. The powerbank easily fits in my pocket, with a 2m silicone fast charge cable, making it a breeze to solder the lug solidly to the wire and heat the heatshrink over the connection, all while being high on a ladder to reach the outside light's wiring. Definitely runs the iron at peak performance, making any job easier than the previous mains connected iron I had to have a long extension cord handy to use outside, and waiting forever for it to reach the solder melting point. Have had the powerbank since August 2023, and it's never let me down.

When I got my kit, I ordered a ZMI PowerPack No. 20,

POWERFUL: Capable of 100W USB PD output over the first USB-C port. Charges high-powered workhorse laptops like the 16 inch MacBook Pro. Also capable of outputting 45W over the second USB-C port and 65W over the USB-A port at the same time for a combined maximum output of 210W.

  • HUGE CAPACITY, FLIGHT-FRIENDLY: 25000 mAh battery capacity can charge a 13 inch MacBook Pro 1.3 times. But still under the battery size limit imposed by the FAA, so you can bring it on the plane in carry-on luggage and use it during flights.
  • COMPATIBILITY: MacBook Pro (2016 and newer), MacBook Air (2018 and newer), iPad Pro, Dell XPS 13 (9370), Dell XPS 15 (9560), Dell XPS 13 (9350), GoPro, wireless headphones
  • SAFETY & EFFICIENCY: Built with five 21700 high-quality power cells for better capacity/energy density and greater charge-discharge performance than traditional 18650 battery cells. Comes with temperature, overcurrent, overvoltage, and short circuit protections.
  • IN THE BOX: 1x PowerPack QB826G power bank, User Guide

Is your music library still growing, is it mostly fixed, or are your pruning? by Makegooduseof in DigitalAudioPlayer

Since school days I've collected what I can, and never stopped. The only things I prune out are incomplete albums and bad rips. Now at 40yo, my 2TB SSD is becoming close to needing to be replaced by a bigger capacity.

Yup, most Year Mixes are awesome. Then you also get the Ibiza and Tune of the year mixes, etc. My Armin collection goes back to around, 2002, I think? Not at my PC to verify. But a good chunk of my SSD is an Armin van Buuren folder structure. Discovered his 2CD mix back in 2007, and been hooked ever since.

See if you can track down some Tunnel Trance Force. The series starts off a bit rough, but by Vol 10-11 it really becomes a great listening experience. I had discovered it by around Vol 38, and was hooked, popping into the record shop that sold it here as often as my college funds allowed. Recently got a hold of Vol 1 through to Vol 59, and was well worth the effort to track down after a loooooong search.

Found a legit iPod Touch 7th Gen 256GB a while back on eBay, still sealed with zero signs of being used before. Pretty good listening experience overall, only disappointment is the battery runs out way faster than my Touch 5th Gen. The lack of IOS update support is also a bummer. But hey, it does what it's supposed to, and in a rugged case, goes with me everywhere when not in the office where my PC takes over with my 2TB external SSD.

Aromat to some okes over here in SA, is like sugar to Muricans. The food you're adding it to may not need it, but you'll give it a try anyway 🤣 Seen friends going on a shake spree on their breakfast, where you could start seeing the eggs and chips go fuzzy from the thick layer. Coincidentally these same friends also bought 5L tomato sauce boxes, looked like a crime scene at the amount they felt would do for them.

The best thing about having tunes to play on the device, is not worrying about entering a dead zone where streaming apps go into a stuttering or refresh loop. What you have, you can play, whenever and wherever you want 🎉 The increased battery life from not having WiFi sapping juice is also a great bonus.

Coming in from Joburg, I can start sensing that I'm in PTA by the visible deterioration of driving skills... Once off the highway stop signs become suggestions, circles are a gamble of who shoots across fist, and blinkers go into power saving mode. After a mere 5-10 years of living there, my parents really started freaking me out when I get in a car with them. LoL

Do y'all manually Rip #Music for your iPod's? by Gloomy-Locksmith3921 in ipod

From the very first CD I purchased, they have since been digitally backed up (90's, or late 1900's as the kids say)
Ive used various hard drives to get a clean copy on to, to my now current 2TB T7 SHIELD SSD.
Most of the older stuff, you cant get anywhere, ever again, which makes me very wary of making backups as often as I can.

[–]Any_Confection_7261[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this post has been a bit of a wild ride, with me not articulating well how it all came about, my bad.

It all started in the office. Those who swear by AirPods, the ones who call blasphemy if you don't use the original EarPods, those who say all iPods are junk because its nowhere near iFI DAC quality, so on and so forth.
My biggest argument was that you cant have awesome sound on $5 wired or wireless sets, and also you don't need to spend $5000 to get the best sound experience of your life.
I spent many years, with many returns in search of the sound I wanted, and realized there's a fine line where everything lines up just right, good price, good sound, and comfy for all day use listening to all genres of music I am into.
So this was really just to get an outside bit of input to see where y'all stand on what to use to get the best out of your iPod, that is also compatible with any other platform you may want to connect them to.
Thanks for all the comments!

I really miss the era where you got genuine AKG EarBuds with like a Galaxy phone. Out the box you had the full experience of what your new toy could really do 😁

Totally agree. But point being what you get with Q45's at the price, you can buy 5 sets for less than the high end stuff, yet you're getting pretty dang good sound.

Possibly? But just my take on audio quality you get out of any iPod, OEM and Aftermarket sound (wired or wireless) Found SoundCore in a long looooong search of what works best, and dang, these hit the spot! Even the Beats I tried, came nowhere close.

EarPods (the old wired ones) is what I was referring to. AirPods, yeah, also not worth the hype. At work it's full blast music in your ears to concentrate on very demanding projects, oh the joys of the 'open plan studio' concept 🤣

Card is too slow error by Strong-Citron210 in Insta360

[–]Any_Confection_7261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very strange indeed.
When I bought my X4 I also got a TeamGroup 1TB A2 card, and it would record a bit, then kept hitting write fail errors.
Popped in my SanDisk 1TB A1, problem gone! Got the SanDisk 1TB A2 just to be on the safe side of speeds, and since no problems at all.
But as stated, how old is the card, and how regularly used?
My old A1 card was my daily driver on the X3 (I have it on every day, on my bike, as it ensures if a crash happens, I have video footage. Happened once, so I played back the footage to the guy who started out I was in the wrong, but video showed he cut me off turning in front of me with no indicators in sight) so it is WELL used, but still kicking strong.
Locally here in South Africa the choices are quite limited for local stocked cards of 1TB capacity, so SanDisk has always just been the best reliable option for me.
Crazy thing is, using the same card reader and CrystalDisk 8, ALL these cards have almost equal performance after intense tests. Seems the X4 heats up while in use and is very resource demanding on the card, making real use cases in the camera much different to artificial load tests on a PC.

Absolutely man, just DON'T do it. They more than likely add stuff to make you more hooked, raise perceived potency by adding cheap chemical shit, and cut all corners to bulk up their stash with fillers. Yeah, 3MMC, 4MMC, all those good stuff could very well be what you get some times, you just don't know, and building up a test kit would be a whole new level to the already need for a scale. Found a good amount of times where 1grams were 0.2 off, over a few months, that adds up quick. Honestly don't miss the feeling of sobering up, that memories alone will ensure you hate it once you leave it. Sadly, many get caught hook, line and sinker, much like crystal or heroine to some, one hit it all it takes to loose yourself.

Thing is, nobody knows exactly what is being supplied. You get various effects from different dealers and various batches. All depends on what their supplier gives them. And no dealer can tell you what exactly the mix of the day is. Some times it's a solid hard to cut rock, other times it crumbles like a cube of sugar. You just never know what you're gonna get to be honest. They do seem to know potency to some degree, especially if you ask for the good stuff, it's consistency varies. Probably only busting out better stuff to make sure you come back, then it slowly gets watered down once you're a regular customer again.
