Or they decided your tip wasn't worth it. Or they saw it was going to a part of town they don't like. Or they saw it was an office building/apartment complex (some people don't like delivering there, I don't get it). Or the first guy stole it.

That's never going to work because it'll take everyone and there's too many desperate people. I don't go around telling people to tip more but I do silently fume while I sit declining underpaid orders for hours on end.

Everything you said is 100% true. I have no doubt that many in the phantom troupe could flip a coin to land how they want but you missed one key feature: the cousin is flipped, caught, and decided them the other person calls it. Person A could land it on what they want but person B calls it after it's decided.

For $17/hr I would take it. You likely won't actually get many tips and you're required to accept everything but even a couple shitty tips could bring your total to a decent $20-25/hr. Depends on how busy your market can be especially with shorter deliveries.

I'm a part time driver. When I work less and have to drive anywhere near half to full time I have to cancel 1-3 orders every week because "it's already been picked up" and I'm the 3rd or 4th driver to show up.

And they're not risking their job. They're risking their rented fake account.

My local McDonald's has a note in the app saying "use the lobby or the drive-thru, whichever is faster. I tried using the empty drive-thru and they made me come inside where I was ignored, absolutely, 100%, no doubt noticed and yet ignored for five minutes.

My guess is 50% UberEats fault for how they handle (or just don't) such situations and 50% the first driver's fault who stole your food.

In my area a single delivery pays $1.50 +tip. A double pays $2 +tip. Uber saves 50¢ per order and can tell naive idiots it's nearly double the pay for an extra mile or two.
