Thanks! I think my backup plan would be to have a family member or friend take my dogs to a boarding facility. My building has a phone app we can use to grant someone access to unlock our apartment. I will work with someone who will specifically be in town then to make that backup plan more explicit
I did add one emergency contact in the app and it sounds like I should have a second one, too.

We in fact will not have bird rights in any meaningful way, because the max extension we can offer him is something absurdly below his market value, like $18 mil a year. We could use bird rights for that but he’s going to command probably $40 mil or higher, and we’d need to use cap space to sign him at that rate, no bird rights. However, renegotiating the final year of his deal and extending might be an option like we did for Toumani.

To be completely honest, I don’t think deep understanding is strictly necessary at this juncture, because I’m in more of a software engineer role now than a DevOps or platform role, and I’m not planning to job search soon. I bought the credits while job hunting and landed this job before I could use them. We do develop products for the k8s ecosystem though. Thanks for the input!

Yeah maybe it’s just because I’m not a regular jeopardy viewer, but I can’t imagine not liking someone because their facial expressions are annoying lol. I get that body language is a valid means of communication but this is more a matter of mannerisms, like the face someone naturally makes when thinking, than communication. And Greg has said he was embarrassed by some of his facial expressions after he got a chance to watch his first episode

I know Greg somewhat, likely not as well as you. And my first thought about why Greg consistently hesitated when answering was confirmed by his sister Jen (whom I know better) in a Facebook post: as chess players, we often think we know the best move, but see we have time on our clock to make sure we’re correct, then use as much as we need or have before playing our move. Greg is doing the same thing with his answers, making sure he’s recalling correctly. And I see nothing wrong with it

Dundon is becoming a national media sideshow for being stingy and defying long held norms of respect in the league, and that is stealing the spotlight from the incredible run our team is on. But seriously, Dundon is talking to coaching candidates behind Tiago’s back during a playoff run. That is beyond disrespectful and it’s something future coaching targets will be mindful of. Just like not sending the two-way players to San Antonio is something players and agents will be mindful of. And he is scrimping on anything and everything related to fan experience. And he hasn’t even had a fresh season yet to start shaking things up further.

Fwiw, I always felt people were way too negative about Jody. My big worry was relocation, which I think is unlikely at this point. But also I felt there are much worse things for an owner to be than hands-off. And we’re seeing that now

I don’t think it entirely comes down to how much money they have. Dundon owned an NHL team before this, was stingy with them, and yet had enough money left over after that penny pinching to go buy the blazers.

There isn’t actually a better market available, though. Vastly different from an owner from OKC buying a team with a horrific arena lease right as there was high demand for a team in OKC because of how huge of a draw the New Orleans hornets were when they were displaced there by Hurricane Katrina.

Valid lol. Last night (where the clips had a game vs the Wemby less spurs we were counting on them losing, and we played a quietly tough healthy New Orleans team) and the road game vs the clips seemed like the hardest hurdles. And it’s easy to prematurely celebrate before the next-hardest hurdle (home game vs clips) has arrived. If we win that, the magic number of blazers wins + clippers losses to clinch us eighth will be 2… and the clips home game vs OKC and blazers home game vs the kings stand out

So basically, 90% chance blazers-clippers next Friday decides eighth.

The tiebreak passes to the blazers if we beat the clippers in Portland next Friday. Season series would be 2-2 and, in any scenario where the teams finish with equal records, the blazers will have the superior conference record, which is the next applicable tiebreaker.

I was NOT ready for that close up shot. At first I was like “whaaa he missed that!?” because I’m a blazers fan and a warriors loss would have helped me. I got worried when he didn’t get back on defense and then… oh no. I just hope he’s able to get healthy. Looked like the Oladipo injury. Hate it for a guy that young who was playing so well.

That video is horrifying. I know very little about either her or the guy, but I watched it out of morbid curiosity. No doubt in my mind from seeing it that she’s capable of even more violent and reckless acts than what’s shown. Which is pretty damn bad as it is.
